Details of the Villa

New this year 2018.. a new restaurant with fabulous views, right in front of the main gates if the villa! The Villa is in the Hamlet of La Higuera, within the National Park of El Torcal, a rock formation once under the sea and was inhabited by dinosaurs, having a free visitor centre and a spectacular wildlife reserve. La Higuera has two shops and a bar, the main shop is also open on a Sunday. The play park with tennis, table tennis, football, basketball and children`s swings, gym and slides, is opposite the villa. Directly from the villa are plenty of various walks and an information site providing details to local history and what wildlife to look out for on each walk. So to from the top of El Torcal, but you will need to drive there, unless you are professionals! It is possible to get to the El Torcal summit directly on foot from the villa. La Joya, is a small town 2km from the villa and has five tapas bars / restaurants, a couple of shops, chemist and bakeries, one of which will deliver fresh bread and pastries daily to you if required. Also La Joya boasts the hotel Fuente del Sol, which has spectacular views, horse riding and various pamper treatments are available to non residents, as is the restaurant and cafe. Villanueva de la Concepcion, the town of El Torcal, is 6km away and has many shops, banks and tapas bars/ restaurants etc. The villa comes fully equipped, including WIFI, Bluetooth sound system, which also takes a USB so bring your own music!, it also has switchable speakers for outside. All bedrooms have air conditioning. Newly installed this year is a new water heating system, so there is plenty of pressurised hot water- yes, in Spain! It is a 200ltr tank, we also have a 1000ltr reserve tank. SO ALL THE WATER PRESSURE ISSUES ARE NOW ADDRESSED! The villa has two pushchairs, high chairs, cots and door gate if needed. For winter guests there is a log burner with logs available from the local shop. There are plenty of shaded areas around the villa, and a pergola near the pool. Ample seating, tables and loungers are provided, so to is an outside cooking ring and barbeque. The villa has an array of wonderful flowers and fruit and vegetables, all for your use, these include, bay tree, various herbs, lemons, oranges, apples, grapes,pears, plums,lettuce, onions, tomatoes,broad beans, peppers,artichoke and melon. A twenty minute drive takes you to Lobo Park, a wolf sanctuary and visitor centre, the ancient capital of Antequera is a must visit, 10 minutes further on from Lobo Park. In Fuente de Piedra there is the largest flamingo colony in Europe, the Spanish lakes and El Chorro gorge are close by, the coast is a one hour drive. Further afield is Granada, Ronda, Cordoba and Seville. I`m sure I will have missed lots out, so please feel free to contact me at anytime. I can arrange the best value car hire, or local taxi`s.
