Yesilkent is what relaxed Turkish holiday living is all about - relaxed, quiet, serene, charming, cooling sea breezes, warming golden sands, you turn a corner and you're in modern holiday luxury, you turn another corner and it's as though you've stepped back to the 1950s. This peninsula on a peninsula is surrounded by the warm Aegean waters on all sides, and boasts literally dozens of beaches, coves, coastline paths, hidden corners, olive groves, old ruined stone shepherd huts. Yet it is well served with a handful of local shops, cafes and restaurants, and a luxury 5-star holiday resort! The property itself is ideal for family holidays, and as it has been much used and loved by my own family for some years now, it is truly a home from home. Now it is time for many other families to enjoy it. The accommodation is spread over two floors. The lower level has a large entrance hall with ample storage under the stairs. An open plan kitchen is well equipped for the hungriest of teenagers, and a small 'utility' balcony off the kitchen means that the laundry can be drying out of the way of busy comings and goings. The principal bedroom is also on this level, with separate bathroom with toilet, bath and shower. The main sitting room has a 3-piece leather sofa set. Entertainment includes TV with DVD player with a selection of films, CD player with a selection of music, many games, cards, books. Overlooking the pool area is the first floor balcony with seating for up to eight people. Upstairs are two further double bedrooms, each with double beds, a smaller 'galley' bedroom with bunk beds, and a second bathroom with toilet and shower. A large top sun terrace has sea and complex views, and also has a table and chairs for when you fancy a couple of lamb chops cooked on the top barbecue. The complex itself has two swimming pools, a tennis court, basketball court, childrens' play area, and beautiful landscaped gardens. The sea is literally 50m away, and there are beaches, restaurants and bars all within five minutes stroll. Yesilkent is however quiet and relaxed, leaving the livelier activities to Altinkum if you fancy indulging on the odd evening. The main resort of Altinkum is a short drive away, boasting numerous supermarkets, a whole promenade full of beachfront restaurants, bars and nightclubs for those looking for a bit of lively fun. The Didim Marina is great for some serious yacht spotting! The Wednesday and Saturday markets run right through the year, offering an array of seasonally fresh fruit and veg, locally made cheeses and yoghurts, honey straight from the hive, olive oils straight from the press....
