Muz Evi is an attractive one-bedroom villa in the rolling hills just outside the picturesque resort city of Marmaris in Turkey. Situated in a tranquil spot on the side of a valley, the villa is secluded and private and offers magnificent views across the pine-clad forest. You're 6km from the centre of Marmaris where you'll find local restaurants, a popular sandy beach and seafront promenade. The villa elegantly combines traditional Mediterranean architecture with cool contemporary interiors. Outside, the building is charming with whitewashed walls and red-terracotta tile roofs, while inside the rooms are light, airy and spacious with cream-coloured furnishings. From the cotton curtains to the handwoven kilim carpets, all the materials used in Muz Evi are locally sourced. The villa is designed for a home-from-home experience with a fully-equipped kitchen including a cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. All rooms are fully air-conditioned, and there's unlimited Wi-Fi throughout your total comfort. You'll also find a TV, DVD and CD player to keep you entertained on chilled evenings in and an electric BBQ for dining outside in the warm weather. There's a main double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, alongside a sofa bed in the lounge and a separate shower and toilet. Sit back and relax in the inviting lounge with a traditional fireplace as the centrepiece – made from locally quarried white marble – or eat breakfast and sip your coffee on the comfortable dining table and chairs. There's also an al fresco dining area on the terrace outside. Making the most of the tranquil setting, there's an outdoor pool and a terrace area with furniture and umbrellas – perfect for sun-lounging in peace or enjoying a refreshing drink after dinner. We must give an honourable mention to the Jacuzzi too, which looks out towards the forest greenery. Set in a secluded spot in pine-clad forests, the villa is perfect for scenic walks through the trees or exploring the surrounds with mountain bikes (the villa owners can arrange bike hire). If you enjoy fishing, you're also within walking distance of a popular fishing spot. From Muz Evi, you can walk 6km into Marmaris, or there's a local dolmus (minibus) service which passes just 250 metres from the villa and runs between 8 am and 10 pm. Taxis cost around £15 one way and drivers are reachable by texting or phoning. If you prefer, owners at the villa can arrange car hire. In Marmaris centre, you'll find plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. You can stroll along the harbour lined with high-end yachts, haggle for local honey, traditional rugs or designer copies in the bazaar, or try the local cuisine. Look out for fresh seafood and meat kebabs. Marmaris also boasts a 16th-century castle and an archaeology museum with underwater excavated treasures that are worth a visit. Nestling on the cusp of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, you'll also find plenty of sandy swimming beaches in Marmaris and opportunity to go on diving trips to underwater caves (Marmaris boasts 52 top-notch diving spots). Charter-boat tours can whisk you to Dalyan or spots on the Bozburun Peninsula. Water sports such as scuba diving, jet-skiing and paragliding are favourites, or for a fun family-friendly day trip there's a couple of water parks with slides and pools.
