Details of the Villa

In the sunny South of France, relax by the heated private pool, or take a short drive to sandy Mediterranean beaches

On the ground floor is a large open plan lounge/diner/kitchen. The kitchen has oven, microwave, hob, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine and a separate WC. The lounge has sofas, television and DVD player. The downstairs double bedroom has French windows to the garden and a large ensuite shower room with enclosed shower cubicle, basin, bidet and WC. Upstairs is a double bedroom with patio doors to a jasmine-covered balcony, a twin bedroom with views of the old village, and a bathroom with bath with shower over, basin, bidet and WC.

From the lounge patio doors lead to the terraces and fully enclosed private garden planted with fruit trees (lemon, apricot, figs, olives etc) , grape vines a palm tree and other typical Mediterranean plants. Guests are welcome to pick and eat fruit from the garden as it ripens. Garden furniture is provided - a table and chairs for outdoor dining, and loungers and side tables for relaxing and sunbathing at the pool or on the terraces.

Private swimming pool with electrically operated security cover. The pool is of the `in-ground' type and surrounded by paved terrace. It is 4mX7m, with depth from 0.9m to 1.5m, and has corner steps down at the shallow end making getting in and out very easy. Pool available May - October.

The lounge has comfortable sofas and arm chairs, television (with French & English channels) and DVD player. For winter there is a cosy log burning stove. Reversible air-con now provides cooling in summer and very efficient heating in winter. The room is spacious, light and airy with patio windows to the terraces and the private heated swimming pool. The dining area has seating for 8 and storage for the crockery & cutlery etc and a collection of books and games.

For young families we can provide some baby equipment on request (cots, highchair, bed guard, stairgates, babybath, bottle steriliser..) - please ask

We have recently created a second indoor sitting area which is separate from the main lounge.

The fully equipped kitchen, which also overlooks the terraces and pool, has been newly refitted and is well-equipped with oven, microwave, electric hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, blender, coffee machine, kettle and toaster etc, pots and pans, chopping knives and boards, and cupboard space. The washing machine, iron & ironing board etc is in a separate room. Between the kitchen and the dining area is a granite breakfast bar, with additional bar-stool seating.

The ground floor double bedroom, with king-size double bed (160cm), has french windows to the garden and a large en suite shower room with enclosed shower cubicle, basin, bidet and WC.

Upstairs is a (double aspect) double bedroom with king-size double bed (160cm) and patio doors to a jasmine-covered balcony with lovely views of the Alberes Hills, Mount Canigou in the Pyrenees and across the plain towards the sea.

The twin bedroom is upstairs and overlooks the pool with views of the old village, the Alberes hills and across the plain to the sea.

All the bedrooms have plenty of storage space, with wardrobes, bedside cabinets and chests of drawers. They are all equipped with reversible air-con and have shutters to keep cool.

Laroque Holiday Villa is located in Laroque des Alberes, Pyrenees-Orientales

Laroque des Alberes is a traditional Catalan village 10km from the sea at the foot of the Alberes hills. There are all the usual local shops, bakers, butcher, newsagent, chemist, small supermarket, shoeshop, hairdresser, post office, etc etc. There are several friendly and welcoming restaurants, cafes and bars, in Laroque, amongst them the Cafe des Artistes which provides a relaxed family atmosphere and where you can watch the world go by from its large terrace, the sophisticated La Cueva or the Michelin starred Les Palmiers (newly awarded for 2010!).

We are just 10km from the nearest motorway junction (A9 at Le Boulou), as shown on the map. We will send out detailed travel instructions to find the house with the booking confirmation. Three local airports (Perpignan, Girona & Carcssonne) are within easy driving distance & served by budget carriers. Within 2hrs 30 mins Beziers, Montpellier, Toulouse, Barcelona El Prat & Barcelona Reus also offer a wide choice of routes.

Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy

A 25% non-refundable deposit is payable at time of booking, with the remainder payable 8 weeks before arrival.

A refundable security deposit of £300 is also required with the final payment.

Our preferred method of payment is with Sterling (£) cheques or by electronic bank transfer - bank details will be provided when booking if this is your chosen payment method. We are now also able to process payment by credit card (with a 1.5% surcharge to cover the credit card processing fee).

We are also able to accept payment in Euros. Contact us for details.

If you require bedlinen or bath towels an additional charge is payable to cover the laundry costs.

We ask that you leave the villa clean after your stay - otherwise an extra cleaning charge will apply.

Please note that (by popular demand) our changeover day is SATURDAY during the main holiday season (May - October). Outside of the main holiday season (November - March) we can be more flexible with arrival and departure days and length of stay.
