Details of the House

The ground floor is all open plan, with a large living, dining and kitchen area. There is a TV with UK and French free to air satellite channels, a DVD player and HiFi. WiFi access is available in the house for those guests who bring their own laptop with them.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a large range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and there is a small breakfast bar and large dining table with seating for six.

There is a separate WC and cloakroom on the ground floor.

On the first floor there are three good sized bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other two each with two single beds. All bedroom have built in wardrobes and side tables. There is a stair gate for the security of your children.

The shower room has a shower cubicle and double hand basin, with separate WC. Two cots are available for younger children - but please bring your own bedding for these.

All other bed linens and hand/bath and tea towels are provided, but please bring your own pool/beach towels.

In front of the house is a large parking area with space for up to 4 cars. There are steps up to the front door.

There is a back door from the living room which leads to the rear gravelled courtyard where you will find a barbecue and seating area. This area of garden is securly fenced with a gate leading to the pool area.

The circular pool is 4.5 meters in diameter and has a grassed area around it with sun loungers and seating nearby.

The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster & coffee maker. There is also a large cooking range - with 2 ovens and 7 gas burners on the hob.
A dining table seats 6 and there is a small breakfast bar as well.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor - one double and two twin bedrooms. All have fitted wardrobes and bedside cabinets. There are radiators for the winter months. Stairgates are provided for the safety of your children.

Les Ammonites is located in Chantonnay, Vendee

The hamlet of Les Chaffauds is located only 3km from Sainte Cecile, which has a bakery, butchers, chemist and a bar. Another 5 minute drive and you will reach Chantonnay whichhas many supermarkets, restaurants, banks and a weekly market. In the summer there are many festivals and fetes held nearby, including a 3 day walking event and the French National Cycling Championships. All of the local villages and towns hold markets and the coastal towns have lots of evening entertainment on the beaches.

Les Ammonites is only 30km from the fantastic Puy du Fou historical theme park where you will be transported back in time to the age of Gladiators, Vikings and Musketeers - an unmissable day out!

It is approximately a 3 hour drive from St Malo, 4.5 hours from Cherbourg or 7 hours from Calais. Our closest airports are Nantes & La Rochelle, both have budget airlines such as Ryan Air, Jet2 and Flybe, plus car hire is available. Junction 6 of the A83 motorway is only 20 minutes away.

Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy

The changeover day for our High and Peak season is Saturday - at other times of the year we can be more flexible - please ask for details.

The minimum number of nights stay is 3.

Payment can be accepted in either Sterling or Euros - using a direct bank transfer or by paying a cheque or cash into our UK or French bank account

A winter heating charge of 40 euros per week is applicable from October until March.

A deposit of 30% is required to secure your reservation, with the remaining 70% paid 8 weeks prior to your stay.

A Security deposit of £100/€130 is also required against any breakages.
