ABOUT YALIKAVAK Yalikavak is 18 km from Bodrum, it is a neat and tidy village with the most beautiful panorama of the whole peninsula. The natural bay is extraordinary and charming. Due to the increased interest in property in Yalikavak, the once sleepy fishing village is growing into a major centre on the peninsula whilst still retaining its charm. It now boosts three major supermarkets, local clinics and a number of hotels open all year round offering cinema, jazz nights, yoga etc for both local residents and visitors. This part of the peninsula is also known for its clean air, crystal clear Turquoise waters and stunning sunsets. A perfect marina complex operating throughout the year with all marina services available opened in Yalikavak two years ago. Yalikavak is renowned for it's amazing sunsets, unspoilt shoreline and clear blue seas. It is ideal for sailing and water sports and attracts many foreign yachts to the marina. It is located just 10 miles from Bodrum town and used to be an old fishing village. The village is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery on the Bodrum Peninsula. Nearby Bodrum will more than fulfill your nightlife requirements with a wide array of shops, bars and clubs. It is only 10 minutes away by bus (dolmus). Yalikavak now has a brand new 450 berth marina alongside its picturesque traditional harbour, the whole area is traffic free with much of it being lined with cobbled stone walk ways. The bay of Yalikavak is considered to be one of the most elegant on the whole Bodrum peninsula. Next to the marina you will find a 2500 person capacity amphitheatre which hosts a number of concerts and other events throughout the season. All beaches along the peninsula are clean and the water crystal clear, there are several small beaches within walking distance of the apartment. Sun loungers and parasols that you can use are provided by nearby bars. It is courteous to buy a drink if you are using their sun beds, this is a common arrangement on most beaches along the Bodrum peninsula. There is a good selection of restaurants and bars within a very short walking distance from the apartment, the atmosphere is very relaxed. The small harbour has good selection of traditional Turkish restaurants selling excellent fresh sea food, we usually manage to find a table on the edge of the harbour which provides marvelous views during the meal. For snacks you can visit one of the several cafes in the small town centre. Wherever you choose to dine you will find that the staff are very friendly and the service is excellent, with reasonable prices as well.
