My Top 10 Holiday Essentials...

By Janet Kam

There just has to be sunshine, from Spain to Sri Lanka, or the Canary Islands to the Caribbean, I dont mind where! But there are a few essential items I that I always pack.

Flip Flops - At least 4 pairs, from beach ones to sparkly ones for the evening, no point taking high heels the heat causes feet to swell so stay comfy.

Floppy Straw Hat - Great for the beach or just protecting the head and neck whilst walking and sightseeing.

Small Bum Bag - Don't have to hold a bag, safely attached to me and just big enough to carry essentials - this is extra to the huge bag I have to carry through the airport!

Deet (or other good mosquito repellant) - Don't want those nasty mosquitoes having a free meal on me in the evening.

Charity Shop Paperback Books - I am an avid reader and hate ruining books so do my bit for the local charity and dont mind if they get a bit wet, sandy or oily.

Digital Camera - Goes without saying I don't want to miss those photo opportunities.

iPad - This is far more important than my phone, apart from the fact that I can Skype the family I can check out local sights, restaurants, days out etc.

Suntan Products - A good suntan cream and an aftersun.

Wet Wipes - You just never know when you'll need these. From the obvious to wipe hands, face etc. to no loo roll, or to clean cuts etc.

and last but not least

Teabags - Yes the good old British brew, the only way to start each day.
