The Golf World Focuses On Dubai Desert Classic For A Week Of World Class Competitions

Dubai is considered a world class holiday destination for numerous reasons; because of its vast malls, shopping centres, entertainment facilities, water parks, beaches, great weather and not to mention its well renowned golf courses. There are at least 21 golf clubs within both Dubai and Abu Dhabi but the best are considered to be in Dubai. Golf tournaments in Dubai are a popular attraction amongst tourists and golf enthusiasts wanting to see the action.

The Omega Dubai Desert Classic (ODDC) is one of the iconic tournaments that takes place annually in the Emirate state. Past winners of the ODDC include last year's winner Stephen Gallacher, Rory McIlroy back in 2009 and Tiger Woods twice in 2006 and 2008. This year's tournament is set to take place on the 27th January – 2nd February at the Emirates Golf Club. The Emirates Golf Club is one of Dubai's best; as the first all grass championship golf course with 36 holes. The Majlis and the Faldo Courses are two of the signature courses in Dubai. Some of the names taking part this year include Ernie Els, Rory Mcllory and Colin Montgomerie.
