20 Hot Music Festivals This Summer

Summer just can't come quick enough this year. Summer music festivals have always been one of the top contenders on everyone's to do list. Every year more and more festivals from around the world are highly reviewed making the decision that much harder when deciding where to go. Have you got your tickets yet?

Here are 20 of the most talked about festivals of 2015 including the forever popular ones and a few you may never have even heard of, from the UK to America and beyond.


Glastonbury

Glastonbury: Glastonbury is the largest Greenfield festival in the world, which has headlined some of the biggest names in the music business such as Beyonce, Coldplay, Kings of Leon and The Killers. Glastonbury usually takes place towards the end of June and has plenty to do for all the family including cabaret, theatre, circus, kids' area, poetry, crafts and more.


O2 Wireless: Coming into their 10th year the O2 Wireless festival is set in the heart of London at the start of July. Over 3 days there are endless acts and activities to do with some of the most popular current artists performing. Although the wireless festival is not a camping festival weekend tickets can be bought, which will allow you see all your favourite acts this summer.


V. Festival


V.Festival: Previously headlined by the likes of Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Eminem V. Festival happens over two historical locations in Chelmsford and Staffordshire in the August period. V.Fest is also very popular with artists that do not usually do the “festival circuit”.


Leeds Festival


Leeds & Reading : Leeds & Reading festival are the leading rock, alternative, indie music gatherings, which is also held across two locations, this years lineup includes artists like METALLICA, Bastille, Mumford & Sons and Kendrick Lamar. Both festivals are during late August in West Yorkshire and Reading.


Creamfields: Creamfields is yet another massive festival, which is based in Daresbury (near Liverpool). Creamsfields, welcomes thousands of dance/electronic/house music fans. With DJs and artists from around world, with all the latest global anthems. With a DJs only area and an outdoor stage with previous artists like David Guetta, Afrojack, Tiesto and many, many more.


Bestival: Bestival at the Isle of Wight is a great way to wrap up the festival season in style. Usually takes place in early September, Bestival is unlike any other with world class artists like Snoop Dogg, Disclosure, Jessie Ware DJ Fresh endless more. Bestival also takes pride in its uniqueness which includes onsite cocktail bars, plenty of fancy dress and an all round great carnival feel.


Download: Download is another rock festival which takes place over 3 days in mid June and is held in Derbyshire. Download is known to be the “monster of rock” festivals and the acts and artists are amongst the biggest for this genre of music. Headliners and bands have included Slipknot, Iron Maiden, 30 seconds to Mars, Korn and Bullet for my Valentine. Download festival has been an annual success for the last 11 years.


Parklife: Parklife is relatively new to the festival scene, which has only been an annual event for the last five years. However, this 2 day festival in early June is highly recommended for its value and facilities and not to mention the Djs and performers. This years Parklife will be again based at Heaton Park in Greater Manchester, with the full line-up announced which includes artists like James Bay, WU Tang Clan, George Ezra, Mark Ronson, Grace Jones, Fatboy Slim and many many more


T in the Park: T in the Park have been an annual music event for over 20 years, this festival is still more popular than ever, presenting some of the biggest acts in music 2015s announced line up includes Sam Smith, Hozier, Mark Ronson, The Script, Hannah Wants, Annie Mac and Kasabian to name but a few. T in the Park is due to take place mid July.


Coachella: This year's Coachella is set over two separate weekends during mid April, due to high demand and popularity. Coachella usually sets the bar high for international music festival as its based in the very heart of California and has some of the best A-list and up and coming performers which cover all genres of music including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic music along with a lot of A-list attendees.



Hideout Festival


Hideout: Croatia's Pag Island is once again holding this year Hideout festival, which is definitely a must-go-to festival. 2011 was the year the Hideout festival took off and ended up in the Guardian's top list of European festivals and four years on Hideout once again continues to sell out. Tickets have already sold out for this year and If you didn't get yours, make sure you're prepared next year. The festival takes place the end of June/early July.


Tomorrowland


Tomorrowland: Tomorrowland is one of the biggest dance festivals in Europe and has one of the most extravagant displays. In the heart of Belgium, Tomorrowland takes place over 3 days during July with some of the best Djs and performers from the dance music scene. Tomorrowland is considered to be a mind blowing fantasy land which you will experience no where else.


Benicassim: Also known as Festival Internacional de Benicàssim or FIB. This 4 day festival and 8 day camping vacation in Spain in July was voted last year's “Best Overseas Festival” and is back this year with a new line up and plenty more party goers. This year's lineup includes Blur, The Prodigy, Florence & The Machine, Clean Bandit, Bastille and many other artists.


Ultra Music Festival


Ultra Music Festival: Ultra Music festival is yet another excellent electro/ dance music festival based in Miami over two weekends. With big performers like Alesso, Afrojack, David Guetta, Steve Angello, Hardwell and plenty more to keep the party going. The Ultra Music festival is also in association with the Winter Music Conference which is aimed at the industry professionals such as producers, record labels, promoters and etc…


Roskilde Festival: Roskilde Festival is one of Europe largest festival, held each year in Denmark. This music event master has been a four day annual event since 1971. 2015s line-up includes worldwide artists such as Pharrel Williams and other popular names like Florence & the Machine, Muse, Kendrick Lamar, Disclosure and Sir Paul McCartney


Sziget: Not only a music festival but the largest music and cultural festival in Europe. Held in the city of Budapest, every August. The Sziget festival has a very alternative line up, so there is something for everyone and if the music isn't to your fancy, you can always check out everything else available such as food markets, bars, rides etc…



Sonar: Sonar is a 3 day music festival in the amazing city of Barcelona (as if this city hasn't got enough already) Music is by far the main attraction at Sonar although there are other multimedia facilities to get involved with. Mid June is the perfect time for the festival as the weather is warming up, a perfect festival setting.


Main Square Festival: Festivals in the heart of summer are just what you need and Main Square festival in in the Citadel of Arras, France is no exception. Over 3 days and nights, Main Square festival is happy to introduce yet another impressive lineup including acts such as The Script, Hozier, Muse, Royal Blood, James Bay and Charlie XCX.


Berlin Festival: The Berlin festival is a two day festival usually towards the end of the festival season. However, this year (2015) the festival will be taking taking place in late May with announced UK acts such as Rudimental, James Blake and Tourist. Great music and Berlin's famous beer culture, you are guaranteed to have an amazing festival experience.


Rock & Coke: Rock n Coke which is held in the city of Istanbul in Turkey is a festival sponsored by Coca-Cola also in early September. Rock n Coke has been an annual event since 2003. This year's lineup is still to be announced so keep a look out, you might just want to go.
