  • "Very practical place to stay."

Wonderful to have parking outside the door. Very convenient for shops and restaurants and there are some outstanding restaurants very close by. Convenient for buses and boats . Lovely vies from the sitting room with the advantage of a balcony as well as a garden? Unfortunately it wasn’t warm enough to sit out. Very comfortable and warm property which is very nicely furnished. I would warn that those with mobility issues might find the 2 flights of stairs to the upper sitting room, a challenge but of course there is a bed sitting room on the ground floor with a bathroom and kitchen. There are lots of good walks from Bowness which are not too high but which still afford great views. The higher fells are not too distant for the more intrepid. We greatly enjoyed our 2nd visit to the Heights and would certainly stay again.

  • "We absolutely love this place which is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and located right in the heart of Bowness within a quiet hideaway but with easy access by foot to a selection of shops, pubs and eateries."

Accommodation is over three floors with what is effectively a self contained flat at ground level offering a large bed/sitting area with adjoining bathroom and kitchen. Two large double bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and an open plan living area and kitchen on the top floor. Easily accommodated us with my wife and I using the ground floor and our son and his family the middle then coming together upstairs to eat and relax. Beautiful views to the front and rear of the property and a perfect base for getting out and exploring this striking area of natural beauty. It's also a great place to come back to after taking on the Cumbrian hills in our walking shoes, warm and cozy with plenty of chill space and a well equipped kitchen (or two) to replenish the body in readiness to do it all again tomorrow.

Nice having two kitchens to cook the Christmas lunch. Great location in Bowness. If you want the best drink and atmosphere we recommend The Crafty Baa in Windermere. This is our 5th time at The Heights and we will be back.

  • "We love this place and have stayed on a number of previous occasions."

Ideally located in the centre of Bowness. 3 good sized double bedrooms, the ground floor bedroom has had new flooring and decoration and is akin to a bedsit with its own kitchen and bathroom. Parking for two cars. Good sized living room on top floor with spectacular views from front and back, even washing the dishes is a joy with those mesmerising views. Very well equipped and warm. Quiet and serene despite proximity to the town. Absolutely loved it.

  • "Lovely clean accommodation with lovely comfortable beds, kitchens had plenty of equipment to cook any meal you choose."

When you look out of the living room window the buildings to the left are the back entrances to shops and cafes a to minute walk, and it is only a ten minute walk to the main water front where all the various trip boats pick up, also that’s where you can get on an open top bus, finally Peter rabbits visitors centre is only two minutes away from this accommodation if you have kids it’s a must, loved it here I have no complaints about the accommodation

  • "Excellent place to stay as there is good parking and you are so near to the shops, restaurants, bus stops and to the Lake."

The accommodation is spacious and comfortable with excellent views from the fron and back of the property There is lots of things to do and see in the area as well as so many interesting walks. There was not a great deal of information about how to leave the property at the end of the stay ie what to do with the bedlinen and towels. We followed the directions to leave the bin out for collection it had not been emptied when we arrived and it was not emptied whilst others bins were. It meant that 3 weeks rubbish would be in the bin which is far from ideal in this hot weather. I did report it to Sykes at the time.

Thank you for your comments, we are pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay and the views! We will take a look at the information provided. We are looking into the issue with the waste collection. Thank you. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Love this place and have stayed a few times."

Perfect location to stay and enjoy the stunning beauty of Cumbria and the Lakes but after a good day walking it’s just a stroll in to Bowness for a selection of pubs and restaurants. Place itself is spacious, warm and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, TVs in bedrooms as well as the living room (on the top floor to capitalise on the view) and parking for two cars. Really can’t fault the place.

Their was 5 of us my 2 boys 7 & 10, my mother in law, partner & myself. Beds were very comfy, had every thing we needed for cooking, cleaning etc. Loved having a downstairs bedroom, kitchen & bathroom as my mother in law stayed with us so made it easier for her. Sofas were comfy after a busy day. Brilliant location as was very near to shops, restaurants & not far from the lake. We would definitely recommend & would love to stay at the heights again.

  • "Hi, We had a lovely stay and generally the Heights was very clean, comfortable and spacious."

On arrival I did phone to report the shower on the first floor was not working and that the shower on the ground floor had no bracket to hang the shower hand set so that you could stand under the shower. So on our first morning we all had to use the one shower on the ground floor with no bracket to hang the shower handset, it makes having a decent shower very difficult and is most annoying. I was told when I phoned that if there was no bracket then the maintenance team couldn’t just fit one, so I ordered one myself from Amazon which arrived the next day, we left it in place so hopefully the next people to stay will have a better shower experience. The first floor shower was fixed on Sunday but I am disappointed that it is not part of a check list to make sure the shower works before new guests arrive. The ground floor bedroom is a bit dated and there are no bedside tables and no bedside lights. Despite the above problems which could easily have been corrected before we arrived, we did have a lovely holiday and the Heights is perfectly placed for walking into Bowness.

  • "Although we had a lovely week at the property my partner inadvertently left 3 summer jackets in one of the wardrobes."

Whilst we fully accept this is our fault, I did ring Lakelovers to explain the situation once we discovered the error a week after we returned to be told an investigation would take place and assured that the items would be returned (At our cost which we had no problem with) but since then we've heard nothing?? Logically, you would think the cleaner would come in and discover the clothes in the wardrobe, immediately assume they'd been left in error and report this back to the office, a fairly simple process given the tight turnaround timescales from one letting to the next. So, I'm very surprised and disappointed that we haven't been contacted with any type of feedback, good or bad. This reflects badly on Lakelovers as a company as it comes across as a lack of responsibility for ignoring a genuine request, and the lack of aftercare once the holiday is over.........The biggest mystery? Where did the jackets go??

  • "The house was absolutely amazing, however we arrived early just as the cleaner arrived, we went round Bowness for a walk and the cleaner was only in the property for a very short time which we didn’t feel was long enough to clean the property fully to covid secure standards."

That aside we had an amazing week there and we will return to that property
