  • "Unfortunately I was disappointed with Kestrel 7."

I appreciate it’s a dated property, but the following things impacted the enjoyment of our stay, including; *Oven extractor fan did not work, so difficult to limit cooking odour. *Hoover did not work, so unable to clean the floor and keep tidy. *Plug in kitchen sink is broken so muck accumulates around the tap. *Hair on the sink. *Chair cushions and sofa blankets smell stale. *Cutlery box filthy and had old food particles and stains. Barely enough cutlery without washing up immediately. *Sharp knives were not sharp! Only one wine glass. *Kettle base mucky. *Underneath the tea / coffee containers stained with sticky black substance. Containers feel tacky and unclean. *Carpets tacky. *Double bed hugely uncomfortable- left me with back pain and stiffness, requiring daily pain relief! *Bedding - insufficient number of pillows. Very cheap and flat. *No mattress or pillow protectors. So unpleasant to sleep on knowing they have been used by multiple occupants. *Tired, well worn bed sheets. *Bedroom bin foot pedal broken and rusty. Replace it - it costs nothing! *Assuming the container on top of the wardrobe is a dehumidifier- it looks like a pot of urine and is disconcerting when you see it because the caravan smells so stale. *Small exposed nail in right hand end of the sofa leg. Son cut his ankle. *Advise you are transparent about the hidden costs to using Kestrel 7. It is a significant additional cost to purchase passes to access activities, pool and most amenities. Positives: Good proximity of the beach Good on-site shop Good field area for dog Site quiet after 11 pm.

  • "The caravan serviced the purpose and was well located near the entertainment centre."

I wouldn't bother getting the passes unless you want to attend the evening entertainment. The beach is near using the underpass but a very steep hill to get to it. The balcony was lovely to sit out on, the lounge and dining room lovely, kitchen well equipped. My daughter said the bed in the lounge was really uncomfortable with 2 bars hurting her body all night, and no quilt for that bed. The other beds were comfy and had a quilt. We were surprised that there were no tea towels or cleaning cloths, or bath towels. We couldn't find the charger for the hoover either so couldn't hoover before we left. The kids loved the entertainment and had a lovely time.

  • "Lovely caravan, clean and spacious for a small family."

Great to have somewhere to sit outside as well. The holiday park was well maintained and very clean as well. Great location, easy access to local towns and 10 minutes walk to a lovely beach. Worth noting that you can't do swimming onsite on a pay as you go basis and the entertainment passes to get access would have been a bit expensive. There are other activities that you can do pay as you go though.

  • "Our stay was one of mixed feelings."

The caravan was spotlessly clean and tidy. The location of it was spot on as it is a stones throw away from amenities. The facilities of the caravan were modern and worked well. Now the down side to our stay. Although there's a ramp for wheelchairs the corridor, bathroom and bedrooms are too small for the wheelchair. I asked at booking for wheelchair access but in my opinion it was far from suitable for a wheelchair inside. This made our stay difficult as one of our group has mobility issues. She was unable to shower because of the narrow doors. The single beds I would say are suitable for children but not adults as the space is limited. I would definitely recommend this caravan and the site to families with children but for 4 adults maybe choose something bigger, especially with health issues such as mobility. Couldn't fault the site and amenities and its a short distance to the beach, again though its a steep descent. A short drive to Scarborough.

Thank you for your feedback When listing this caravan we made it very clear that the ramp is given the correct term "access ramp" it does not state in our listing that this is a disbaled ramp for wheelchairs or that the crarvan is suitable for people with mobility issues. If you had contacted myself directly prior to booking and asked the question I would have made this abundantly clear. I have spoken with Sykes and again they have confirmed that the listing DOES NOT state this caravan is suitable for disabled access. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday."

Kestrel 7 was very clean and well equipped, close to all amenities. The only negative is that the bed is quite uncomfortable but we had a great week and I would stay again.

Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. If you could email me directly to adsvise which bed you stopped in so that we can check the mattress Property Owner

  • "These comments are for others using this caravan, and are constructive with a view to improving their stay."

On arrival the caravan wasn't heated. Contacted owner who sent photographic instructions by text, electric heater was difficult to operate. Contacted owner again for instructions on site internet access. Generally the caravan was clean, some dusty surfaces in bedroom and dusty blinds and the mat outside the front door didn't fulfill it's purpose, as it was saturated with rain. Only half a toilet roll provided. On a positive note the site is ideal for children and families, with plenty activities and entertainment and easy access to a beautiful beach. Improvements needed: Provision of paper form information for heating instructions and internet access. Cleanliness is to standard, with particular attention to detail. Provision of kitchen scissors. Hope these recommendations can improve future clients' stay at this caravan.

Thank you for your feedback, I will pass your commments onto our cleaners. A laminated paper copy of the instructions for use of the heaters were left in the caravan in february when I visited unfortunately these have gone missing. I have since visited the site following your comments and a folder with this information is now in the caravan. Property Owner

Eveything was clean and tidy.It did say on the website that entry was three o'clock on arrival but it was four also that towels were provided but there were none.Apart from that everything was great we really enjoyed it.

Thank you for your feedback. The check in time has always been 4pm however Sykes had this listed incorrectly. We don't provide towels again sykes should have this as an exclusion to our holiday home. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for bringing the incorrect listing of the check in time to my attention which has now been addressed. Property Owner

It was clean, tidy and as advertised, except that towels were not provided. The advert said they would be included. We mentioned this at reception and a set of towels were delivered within 15 minutes. We thought that was good service. Another plus point for us was the access ramp instead of steps. We are elderly and the ramp was very good for us. All in all excellent and we had a very good weeks holiday. Thank you.
