The property

Gate House is a historic, riverside home, resting in an enviable position just a short distance from Coniston Water, in the Lake District National Park.

Enjoying an elevated position above Church Beck, this award-winning property is enveloped by rural views, whilst a stone’s throw from a selection of shops, eateries, and attractions, making it an ideal base for families or groups of eight, travelling with their furry companions.

Park up on the private driveway, and unload your belongings, before taking some time to appreciate your new, tranquil surroundings, in the heart of the lakes.

Step indoors and make your way to the social hub of Gate House, the fully-equipped kitchen/diner, complete with state-of-the-art appliances, and country-style cabinetry, along with a formal dining table to gather, dine and socialise together.

With three homely sitting areas to select from, all featuring plush seating and a woodburning stove, retire to the reading room and delve into a good book, or flick on the Smart TV, and catch up with your favourite programmes, whilst the snug offers the perfect nook for the children of your group, complete with a PlayStation.

If the sun is shining, make memories in the rear garden, fully enclosed and overlooking the river, where you can dine alfresco, over a bottle of wine, or relax the night away in the indulgent hot tub.

Four fabulous bedrooms await upstairs, all featuring Smart TVs and plenty of storage to make yourself at home, starting with two king-size bedrooms, enjoying rural views and access to private en-suite bathrooms, each with the luxury of free-standing baths and walk-in showers.

A further king-size bedroom is on offer, with an en-suite shower room, whilst the twin offers plenty of space for the family, also featuring an en-suite shower room.

If you can tear yourself away from Gate House, head into the village to dine, stock up on the essentials, tour The Ruskin Museum or board the National Trust - Steam Yacht Gondola, for a trip across Coniston Water, available through April to October.

With Lake Windermere a car journey away, arrive to a wealth of lakeside attractions, including National Trust - Hill Top, The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, National Trust - Wray Castle, and Blackwell gallery, or if you’d simply prefer to feel at one with nature, spend the afternoon hiking, trailing, cycling, kayaking, or sailing, with plenty of activities available at Brockhole on Windermere.

Enjoy the lofty peaks, rolling hills, and calming waters across the national park, before returning to Gate House, your exclusive, award-winning home-from-home.

All of this awaits by booking Gate House.
