The Church of San Donato, dominates the piazza and has origins dating back to the 13th century. The house dating back to around 17th century, has maintained it's character of wooden beams, tiled floors and ceilings. The decor is true to it's Tuscan origins of painted plaster walls in traditional colours. Modern appliances compliment this delightful old house .

Chianni is a medieval town with Etruscan origins, which used to be fought over between the bishop of Volterra and the Republic of Pisa, before passing definitively to the control of Florence. In an area surrounded by hills and woods, Chianni is the ideal place for lovers of food, panoramic views and walks. In the town the most significant attraction is the Church of San Donato, remodelled from its medieval structure in ‘800 AD’.

The village has been known for years for its olive growing, the extra virgin olive oil of Chianni has an intense colour, a low level of acidity and a fruity flavour. The forests of Chianni and the surrounding areas are home to the wild boar, every second and third weekend of November the oldest food festival in Tuscany is held, where you can taste wild boar dishes and other specialties.
