  • "Great location for exploring Snowdonia and Portmeirion."

View of the harbour, the little steam engines, all framed by a mountain backdrop. We were pleasantly surprised how much sun we got... Public transport options are very good. A new Sunday bus started up the month before we arrived going to Barmouth, so what with that and the Cambrian Coast railway it's really easy to walk a section of coastline and get a bus or train back whatever the day. The property was cosy and clean.

The Kitchen and Lounge have a balcony from which you can sit and watch the little Engines being loaded with fuel and the boats on the harbour, with the town of Porthmadog behind. The Kitchen is well equipped and a lovely oven. We feel comfortable there and an easy walk into town.

The property is cosy and well equipped and ideal for a winter break with the lovely harbour view which can be enjoyed from the first floor open plan kitchen/lounge whatever the weather (which in our case was mostly sunny despite it being January). You're also close to the High Street and nice walks across the estuary next to the train line or along the coastal path. We enjoyed visits to Portmeirion, Barmouth and the Lleyn Peninsula, all in all a lovely holiday.

It has convenient easy parking. With the living room and kitchen upstairs it makes the most of the pretty view over Porthmadog harbour. There is effective wifi and a well equipped kitchen. The minor issues we experienced when arriving were rapidly attended to by Ed. South Snowdon Wharf provided an excellent base for our walking holiday exploring the Llyn peninsula and Snowdonia National Park.

It had a very comfortable bed and warm quilt. The view from the lounge window and balcony was lovely, mountains, harbour and the railway engines coming to coal and water everyday, what more could you ask for. The property was within a short walking distance of the town which had places to eat, although I would suggest that if you wanted to eat at any of the restaurants you need to book these, as they seem to be very popular and don’t open on certain days. We had very good instructions from Ed the owner about the property and these were clear and easy to follow. We appreciated the milk and Welsh cakes left for us in the property. Would definite recommend staying at the property especially for railway enthusiasts!

In serious need of shelving for toiletries. Kitchen cupboards had musty smell every time on opening. In fact, musty smell every time you went in through the front door. Sofas lovely and comfortable, balcony a real bonus. Comfortable double bed, although bedding a little on the tired side, furniture rather dated. Wallpaper coming off wall in single bedroom by bed. Not appealing to sleep in there. Excellent parking. Would recommend a spare key available, just in case.

Your maintenance points have been noted. As for the musty smell this will be investigated as you are the first to mention this. The new bedding bought one year ago must be showing it’s age. Regards Property Owner
