Amazing property & owners too.
Everything you needed for a comfortable stay with the local wildlife at your doorstep each day.
Perfect location only a short walk down into the village where we enjoyed many cafes, some hidden down little alley ways and local shops too.The waffle & Pancake shop was delicious.
The River Nidd walk was a very enjoyable walk from the village following the river which starts behind Wildings cafe and runs down to an open lake.
We have already recommended the Barn to friends and family and would definitely return again at some point in the future.

"A very clean and well presented barn with everything you could possibly need thought of and provided."
The surrounding scenery was beautiful and was ever changing with the weather. The wildlife brought many hours of entertainment as we sat and watched ducks playing on the pond, and hens and pheasants observing us through the patio door.
We needed a relaxing and peaceful break and this holiday home did not fail to deliver. We would highly recommend this property.

It was as good as the first stay with a wonderful welcome pack. The property is in wonderful countryside with great views and so many places to see within a short distance. The standard of the cottage is five stars and it certainly deserves that rating. We loved the ducks in the pond and we want to come again in the summertime.

Unfortunately “Storm Babette “got the better of us on our final day and had to leave earlier but that was a natural phenomenon we had to accept.

"This is a wonderful property surrounded by the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside."
The accommodation was extremely clean, warm and comfortable and had a well equipped kitchen. It is ideally situated within a short distance of many interesting towns and villages.
The hosts were extremely friendly and keen to ensure we had everything we needed.
We would love to return during the winter months and simply stay in and relax, curled up with a book or two whilst enjoying the wonderful views.

"My wife and I enjoyed the Barn enormously, Chrissy and John were brilliant hosts, there if you needed them but not in any way intrusive ."
The Barn itself was lovely and clean with every modern convenience for a comfortable stay. Best of all was the view over Nidderdale, and what a view it is, spectacular and breathtaking. I asked John if we could take it home with us, his reply was “sadly not, the only way to see it again is to come back” which we will certainly be doing.

"We had a great week at the Barn."
With hindsight, I regret not booking the property for two weeks. A huge thanks to John, Chrissy, and Torva. They made us feel very welcome. Apart from supplying us with fresh eggs from their own hens, John and Chrissy also provided us with cucumbers, courgettes, and tomatoes that they cultivated themselves. AND John gave us a jar of honey from his own bees. Thank you once again

"Once you get used to the spiral staircase, the barn proved an excellent holiday venue."
There were so many varied and historical walks nearby, and interesting places to visit. The views from the lounge window were spectacular. The welcome basket proved most inviting after a long journey, and it was good to meet our welcoming and helpful hosts and see round their garden.

We were impressed with the cleanliness, space, comfort and overall quality standard. A warm welcome from the hosts and a few local goodies was well received. The spiral staircase is easy to navigate and adds a quirky feel to the place. Very comfy bed and nice hot shower, great for tired muscles as the area is rather hilly! This cottage is extremely well equipped and maintained. We were blessed with perfect weather and sitting out on the patio watching the ducks/ wildlife was a treat. We enjoyed visiting local towns, including Pately bridge, Skipton and Settle and there are lovely walks locally or further afield. Knaresborough, Ripley castle and Fountains abbey are definitely worth a visit. We have stayed in many cottages and would rate this very highly and absolutely worth a return visit!

"A beautifully converted barn in a stunning location."
It was warm, well equipped and comfortable. The living area was very spacious, with fabulous views over the countryside. The shower was large and powerful, and the Wi-Fi signal was excellent. Off road parking and a lovely patio area by the pond, with amusing resident ducks.
The hosts John and Chrissie were very friendly, yet gave us privacy throughout our stay, and had provided a welcome pack and helpful information literature on local short walks and tourist attractions. Highly recommended.

I'm sure I'd have no trouble spending a week ( or more) sitting on the patio watching the wildlife and absorbing the fantastic scenery. The layout internally of the barn works really well and has everything you need to cater for yourself . The Barn is perfect

The situation of the barn is stunning with wide views across Nidderdale from every angle. Close enough to make the amenities in Pately Bridge easy to access yet peaceful and quiet above the town. Perfectly situated for walks and a wide range of places to visit. The accommodation is spacious and well furnished with everything you need to make your stay a five star experience. The Barn could not be faulted, we loved it.

The patio is an ideal place to relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and watch the ducks play in the pond while the chickens roam nearby.
Chrissie and John are excellent hosts and made us very welcome and relaxed. The welcome basket of goodies was much appreciated by us.
The cottage location is ideal for long (or short) country walks without the need to drive anywhere.
We thoroughly recommend The Barn and we would definitely love to return in the future.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. The Barn was immaculate, comfortable and home from home. In a beautiful setting looking over the Yorkshire Dales surrounded by the chickens, ducks and other wildlife it was so relaxing sitting next to the small pond whilst enjoying a glass of wine. The welcome pack and fresh eggs was an absolute treat and most welcoming. Every small detail had been thought through and the Barn felt incredibly COVID safe - thank you.
There was a very good phone and wifi signal for anyone who may be wondering about this - thankfully I left work at home.
Yes I would recommend to friends and family and would definitely book again.

Pateley Bridge is close to many beautiful places with lots of walks close by . There are 2 great butchers which sell fabulous pies ( we preferred Kendall’s ) . There are a few pubs an Indian restaurant and a lovely Italian .

One of the best cottage holidays we have ever experienced. The quality and finishing touches in The Barn are top notch. Fantastic views and a feeling of space and quietness. The cottage is about a mile up hill from the centre of Pateley Bridge but is easily walkable. The location is ideal for visiting the Dales, York and Harrogate. We will be back and won’t hesitate to recommend to friends.
