We stayed over Xmas in 2022 and 2023 and the property owners made it feel very festive by putting a tree up for us and other Xmas things which was really appreciated. The cleanliness is amazing aswell it smelt so fresh when you arrived. The hot tub very well kept and pure luxury and the cottage had every thing you needed from cutlery to towels and there was even fresh bread for us and prosecco for Xmas dinner oh and the dinner table had Xmas crackers on for us. Highly recommended and the comments book in the cottage was full of praise aswell. Thankyou to the owners of Dale cottage for a memorable Xmas from John Donna and Marley.

  • "Overall we were very satisfied with the cottage."

Apart from the issues we discussed with both Sykes and the owner it was a nice stay. A very nice touch to arrive to a gift basket! Decent parking space at the front of the property lovely views to the rear and the cottage was tastefully decorated and even had Halloween pumpkins etc for us as our stay co-incided with Halloween. If we had to point out any slight negatives the toilet flush was faulty and so after flushing you had to lift the handle otherwise the water would continue to flow, Downstairs there was no clothes airer to dry clothes with (minor point) but as there were no blinds at the back windows it did feel a little like living in a gold fish bowl. Fine for your morning views but not so great at night with the lights on when people walking dogs can see right in which brings me on to the hot tub. As there is no outdoor cover as soon as you walked back into the house there was no where to get changed or dry off… you were straight into the kitchen. Luckily there was a stone floor but we had to make sure we had towels at the ready so as not to drip through the house. Plenty of games for rainy days though which was great. Overall we had a nice stay,

The location in the pretty village of Ingleton is an ideal base for walks as well as day trips for our family of 4! The cottage itself has everything you could want and has been renovated to the very highest standards whilst maintaining some original features to give a cosy feel. The hot tub is great as is the spacious and sun-filled back garden. The welcome pack was an added bonus and it just felt like everything had been carefully considered to give guests the best possible stay. We wouldn't hesitate to return again. Thank you!

Fantastic hot tub.Great location to explore the many activities in the surrounding area. Especially the Bowes museum and Raby Castle.. Although no charging of electric cars at the cottage lots of fast chargers at local supermarket, more expensive but very convenient. Very generous welcome pack. Beautiful views from large un curtained window and open glass panel in bedroom which were fabulous but if you don't like waking early not so appealing. . Although the garden at the back faces open countryside the traffic noise in the bedroom first thing in the morning was rather intrusive. Would have been useful to have instructions re appliances and Oven gloves. Overall a wonderful stay and would definitely return and recommend to others.

The house has been refurbished to a really high standard while retaining its countryside charm. It was very well-equipped. Sofas and beds were extremely comfortable. We loved the little touches such as the decorated Easter tree and the welcome pack. There is a window seat on the landing that makes the most of the beautiful views to the rear of the property. I happily sat here taking it all in with my morning coffee before anyone else was up! Hot tub was fabulous after a day's walking. The Black Horse pub is just a short stroll away and serves excellent food. There is a decent playground over the road that our 9-year-old thoroughly enjoyed. The owners have even provided a small custom-made Ordnance Survey map with Dale cottage right in the centre so you can enjoy walks from the house. There are some games and children's books for rainy days. The locals are so friendly and everyone says hello. Overall, we had a fabulous stay, thank you!

  • "We had a lovely stay at dale cottage!"

It was everything we expected and more. It had a lot of kitchen supplies that many other places we’ve been too didn’t have. It was cosy and a lovely home from home. The views around were spectacular and it was such a high standard. The only down side was that there were soooo many flys although that isn’t the owners fault I would definitely recommend taking some fly spray if you do stay. Also it’s only a really small freezer box at the top of the fridge and I would highly suggest to the owners to get a larger freezer as there is plenty of space and we ended up having to throw a lot of food away that we had bought due to the freezer not being big enough. A holiday for a week I expected to be able to by food and having somewhere to store it however this wasn’t the case. Also I’d suggest to get some nice outside furniture as although the weather was lovely the seating area was really uncomfortable to sit on. Other than those minor issues it was lovely and I would 100% recommend xxxx

One in Darlington & 1 in Yorkshire , we thought we were going to Yorkshire, but to be honest it worked out much better as the places we wanted to visit were closer, Richmond, Bernard castle,Whitby, Durham to mention a few , There is also a village pub The Black horse which serve Italian food really good & the neighbors both side of the cottage were very friendly we were given some lovely apples from one of t their orchards. We arrived to a welcome basket of goodies & bottle of prosecco and some dog treats very kind, the cottage was well maintained & was to a very high standard. There was everything you wanted in there , plenty of kitchen equipment, coffee machine. it was very comfortable & the hot tub was a real bonus ,it was spotlessly clean throughout. Which is exactly what you want. The only downside which is not Dale cottage fault we’re the amount of flies , apparently there had been loads I read an article in Darlington post , but having said that I would recommend the property & would like to go back there another time many thanks Dale Cottage

The welcome pack was so thoughtful and delicious and the doggy treats were a really nice touch. The place is very spacious and the outdoor space is great, the view across the fields is stunning and you can easily access them from the public footpath nextdoor but one.
