  • "Great space, very comfortable and with easy access to some great nature walks."

Isolated for peace and quiet, but within easy reach to pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and beaches. It's my 2nd time there, and look forward to return.

Thank you, Helena - glad you enjoyed your stay. Please accept our apologies for problems due to blockage in the washing machine (now fixed) and thank you for flagging this up. Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable barn conversion."

Underfloor heating kept the property nice and warm. We were a party of four adults and two young children and had plenty of room. Everything is good quality and the owners Tracey and Adam are close by and we're very friendly and accommodating. We had a great time.

Thank you! We're very pleased to know you enjoyed yourselves, and we'll hope to see you again Property Owner

  • "A beautiful and tranquil location with woodland walks from the door."

Beaches within a 20 minute drive. Perfect for visiting North Devon and Cornwall. Dog friendly with a secure garden. Our puppy loved chasing the daddy-long-legs through the long grass! Clean and tidy kitchen with dining/living area well presented. We loved the comfy sofas and the wood burner for chilly evenings. The bedrooms were cosy with super comfy beds, and we were provided with beautifully scented organic toiletries in the bathrooms. We really enjoyed the welcoming hamper of goodies championing local produce – especially the sour dough bread (thank you Adam) and eggs, laid on the farm. Will be back again!

Thank you Andrew, it's good to know you enjoyed it, please do come again! Property Owner

  • "Property was situated in a lovely quiet spot with a really nice picnic spot by the pond just around the corner."

The owners were very friendly and the basket of local produce was a really nice touch, especially the bread! The property itself is spacious and well provisioned and the kids loved the mezzanine balcony as a place to play / relax. Bude is not too far away, has some great beaches especially just outside the town and we were well placed for the section of rugged coast leading down to Boscastle and Tintagel etc. Would definately stay again.

  • "Lovely barn conversion in a quiet setting."

Clean, well equipped and comfortable. Owners welcoming but unobtrusive, who left a thoughtful welcome pack, fresh milk, eggs, bread and honey. Despite poor weather we had a great time and will definitely go again.

Thanks very much, we're pleased you had a good break despite the slightly uncooperative weather! Property Owner

  • "Wow! What an absolutely beautiful, bright and peaceful place."

We felt at home as soon as we stepped through the door. A thoughtful welcome basket of home-made and locally produced goodies, flowers, shower gel and shampoo in bathrooms, hairdryers and a selection of games and books. Plenty of space, comfortable beds and great showers, A meadow and woodland walk within the grounds where you can listen to the buzzing of bees, chirping of birds and a cricket symphony whilst meeting wildlife including various species of butterflies and tiny toad offspring. The perfect base to explore Devon and Cornwall’s stunning coastline and beaches. We are a family of 6 adults and a dog and this place ticked all our boxes and provided plenty of space for all. I would definitely recommend a holiday here.

Thank you! Really glad you all enjoyed yourselves, we hope to see you again :) Property Owner

  • "This must be the most tranquil place I've ever stayed at, nothing but birdsong to be heard in the grounds and woodland."

The owners were very friendly and helpful

  • "Beautiful property, owners are new and really tried to help with any issue."

The location is fab if you want to get away from it all as it’s remote. Reduced Wi-Fi could have made things difficult if I had children who rely on it. There was some teething problems with the heating but hosts tried to fix this and did offer more logs to burn and electric heaters. We had a fab week and would use this venue again if we stayed in the same area again in the future

Thanks Rachel, we're really glad you enjoyed your stay. We've definitely got the heating sorted now, and we're told that full fibre broadband is on its way soon to this part of Devon! Property Owner

Hoppers Barn is a fabulous, contemporary dwelling resting on historic Dunsdon Farm which is noted in the Doomsday Book, now managed for the conservation of habitat and wildlife.

No longer a working farm, with access to a 4-acre woodland and 16 acres of meadows, and within reach of the North Cornwall coast, this is a fabulous choice for a family or group of friends.

An enchanting rural retreat, this former stone barn enjoys an enviable location within easy reach of some of Cornwall's best beaches as well as the vast Devonshire countryside, catering to all activity preferences.

Enter through the large heavy door, beneath the unique porch, coming into the first floor of this amazing abode; to your right is the large country kitchen, host to a range of appliances to cook up some fabulous dishes.

Taking centre stage under the vast apex and original beams is the dining area, perfect for gathering the group together at mealtimes or for planning your trip.

Rest and relax within the sitting area arranged around the warming wood burning stove in the corner and the TV, while the little ones can have their own snug space up on the mezzanine level above this to lounge on comfy bean bags whilst playing a board game.

Head down the handsome wooden staircase to three pristine bedrooms on the ground floor.

Choose from a king-size with an en-suite shower room, a twin room which can be transformed to a super king if needed thanks to zip/link features, and another twin room, all with great attention to detail with pretty linens, ample storage for your belongings and a TV.

Freshen up in the shared bathroom on this floor which has a bath with a shower over, so you can enjoy a long soak when you need a quiet moment.

Dine alfresco in the summer months on the front patio while the little ones run around on the lawn or begin your mornings outside for breakfast.

On your very doorstop is the Dunsdon National Nature Reserve, where you can enjoy a delightful walk, or head a little further to Tamar Lakes Activity Centre at Upper Tamar Lake 3 miles away, where a host of activities wait for all ages.

Travel to Bude on the Cornish coast where you'll find dog friendly beaches, plenty of good eateries or try your hand at surfing with many surf schools happy to help you get on a board for the first time.

If you prefer calmer waters then take a dip in the Bude Sea Pool, popular for swimming and paddleboarding.

Walkers will enjoy discovering the coastal landscapes from the South West Coast Path, coming across Cornwall's delightful villages and towns along the way like Crackington Haven, Boscastle, and Tintagel.

Close to beaches, countryside and lots of family friendly attractions, Hoppers Barn is a fabulous hidden gem.
