  • "We all agreed that the accommodation was clean, comfortable and well stocked with very nice cutlery, crockery and kitchen appliances."

The parking was convenient, in the road directly outside the house and the provision of daily parking permits was much appreciated. The house is nicely situated for access to the beach, shops and Railway Station. Ron Peel

  • "We had a lovely stay and the property was exactly as advertised, Julie was extremely friendly and a pleasure to meet."

We all enjoyed the cookies! We were ideally situated for the marina, beach and the town. We would have no problems in recommending to anyone and we are looking to rebook with other members of the family later in the year. Colin, Wendy Martin & Meg

  • "In general a lovely place to stay with amazing views."

A few cleanliness issues. The tumble dryer hadn't been checked since previous Occupants and therefore hadn't been cleaned out and there were tea stains all down the drawers next to the fridge. The water pressure in the showers is very low and slow. There also wasn't a Mop provided so we couldn't wash the kitchen floor during our stay. The front and back door key should be separate and maybe provide a security box at the back so you can walk back along the beach and up the steps at the back of the property. Lovely touch to leave us items to make a hot drink on our arrival and the biscuits went down a treat. We didn't bother trying to park down the street as the car park at the end of the road is only a 3 minute walk and it's perfectly safe to leave you car there. In fact we never used our cars during our stay and it was quicker and easier to use the train. Car park was only £8 for 24 hours.

  • "Driftwood is a very comfortable property and the views from the back are just as shown."

The owner, Eddy, introduced himself and was both friendly and helpful and provided a complete welcome pack which we were not expecting. Altogether a very relaxing stay in a property and location that we would recommend. This property should have a five star rating.

Thanks for the feedback it was lovely to meet you both and we are glad you enjoyed your stay thanks for leaving the house clean and tidy and we would welcome you back anytime. Julie and Eddie. Property Owner

The property

This three-storey, Victorian terrace house sits on a residential street right next to the beach, in the heart of Exmouth, Devon.

Benefitting from private beach access and uninterrupted sea views, Driftwood is an excellent choice for a family of five and their canine companion looking to spend some time exploring the beauty of Devon.

Internally, the ground-floor features an open-plan living space hosting all the amenities for a week-away; take over the kitchen and start preparing a delicious home-cooked feast, making use of a range of appliances, before gathering at the dining table and indulging in a feast.

Afterwards, head to the sofa and binge watch your favourite shows from the Smart TV, or take the evening outside and enjoy a drink from the enclosed garden.

At the rear of the garden is your own private access to the beach, so you’ll hardly have to leave the house before dipping your toes in the sand!

The first flight of stairs leads to the bathroom with bath and shower over, whilst there are also three bedrooms, including a four-poster double bedroom and then a twin and double which can be combined to make a family suite or closed off separately.

The second floor plays host to two more doubles, one which enjoys an en-suite shower whilst the other features sliding French doors to a private balcony with bistro table and chairs.

Within a short walk there is a plethora of independent shops selling gifts to take back home, restaurants and pubs for when you fancy eating out and a cinema and theatre for some evening entertainment.

Those looking to get their steps in can lace up their boots and ramble up to 26 miles along the Exe Cycle trail linking Lympstone with Exeter, Exmouth, Topsham and Dawlish as well as the South West Coastal Path which is the longest National Trail in the country.

Further along, the city attractions of Exeter await, including its stunning cathedral and quay which make for an excellent day out, whilst the World of Country Life and Crealy Theme Park are both great choices for family adventure.

If you are seeking a substantial home right next to the beach, look no further than Driftwood.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.
