  • "Fantastic flat."

Very clean and well equipped. Great location. Very good communication with the owner. Highly recommended.

  • "This is a lovely apartment, we've had a great holiday, our only issue was that our bins were full when we got there, there were no instructions about bin collection and even though we put them out, they were never emptied so they were over flowing by the end of our 2 weeks."

  • "Our stay at Nab House was lovely."

We had the initial problem of having the wrong key code to get in, but that was quickly resolved by staff at Sykes, a helpful neighbour and the owner - thank you all very much. The property was in a fantastic location - very short walk to the beach and the shops. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable and spacious. It was a pleasure staying there. The only issue we had was that the bins outside were not emptied at all during the week we were there so were overflowing by the time we left.

  • "Beautifully decorated, very clean apartment with everything you need."

Really perfect for a family break, my son loved the chaise longue on the landing upstairs and the boys had fun with the retro FIFA12. Very close to the beach, lovely quiet private road. The area is gorgeous with some cute cafes and shops. Only one small thing, the windows really need cleaning inside and out. Mobile signal really non existent in the flat but wifi decent. Local taxi companies very unreliable so plan ahead if you need a taxi to the ferry!

  • "The property itself was perfect for what we needed and it was really comfy, clean, and perfect space wise."

Great distance from the beach and we really enjoyed exploring the local area. The only disappointment with the property was the inaccurate picture of the garden and the description of it. The picture looks nothing like what it is and despite the description saying it has 'wild flowers' it is very misleading. It is in fact overgrown (over waste heigh tall) and not maintained. With a 2 and a 4 year old, the garden was not safe and this was highly disappointing during such a hot week to not feel like we could use the space and the BBQ.

  • "The location was perfect, a quiet village setting near the sea."

There was everything provided for a comfortable stay ie the TV packages and all the kitchen equipment. And the price was reasonable. My only criticism was the windows. With spiders and webs all over the outside of the windows and I have a phobia about them. Also, when windows are not that clean, the whole property seems not clean even if it is.

Hi, sorry to hear the windows were not clean, I have spoken to the window cleaner who apparently missed a clean so I will make sure between us we will be hotter on this to ensure this does not happen again. Property Owner

  • "The rental is significantly let down by the dreadful lack of water pressure."

With 4 adults and 2 children staying here it was almost impossible to get any kind of a shower without someone running a tap or flushing a toilet resulting in the top floor shower completely stopping, or the 1st floor shower switching to ice cold mode :( Photos of the listing are accurate, it is spacious, comfortable accommodation with tasteful furnishings and a well appointed kitchen (lots of cutlery, crockery, sharp knives, pans & serving dishes). A 4 slice toaster rather than a 2 would reflect that this is accommodation for families rather than just a couple We were completely perplexed by the grill (meaning we couldn't switch it on / use it) so would suggest the instructions are expanded The garden is not visible from the accommodation making it a challenging space to use if you have children in your party Very close to the beach & a quiet road

Thank you for your review. Apologies for the poor water pressure, this was due to underground pipes and the connection to the road which has now been rectified and great water pressure has been restored and indeed improved upon. Property Owner

    Reviewed by JaneySep 2022

  • "There is a problem with the water pressure as the pipework was probably installed when the house was built as one dwelling."

Now it has been turned into multiple apartments it is woefully inadequate so the water reduces to a dribble if someone elsewhere flushes the loo, uses a washing machine, or just runs a tap. This means using the downstairs shower was particularly difficult as there is no heat limiter and the water could suddenly become scalding hot whilst you were under it. This is a shame as the apartment is very well appointed and comfortable in all other ways. There is a barbeque but we couldn't use it because it was too near the hedge and with the dry weather a spark could have started a fire. Also it looked like someone had used it a while ago as it wasn't very clean and a little mouse had built its nest in it!

We where not informed of the closures and this made it a little stressful on our first day. A heads up a few days before we left, would have been good.

  • "We had an excellent 3 nights stay at the 5 Nab House."

The property is spacious and very well furnished. Ample parking space. Situated in a very nice neighbourhood and a stone's throw away from the Bembridge Beach (with sea view from one of the bedroom windows) as well as convenience stores about 10 mins walking distance. A stroll along the coastal path markings is recommended as well as the Bembridge Windmill. Also worth a visit to the Sandown Beach and Pier which is 20 minutes by car.

  • "5 The Nab is a character property with attractive furniture and fittings."

It is comfortable and well thought out, showing attention to detail. The walls contain pictures and posters which all relate to the Isle of Wight, and there is also a library of books about the island, alongside lots of games. The kitchen had all we needed in the way of equipment. We found tea and coffee and a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us on our arrival. The Nab is situated a walk away from the beach and lighthouse, the local shop is well stocked for it's size.

They couldn't be used even with the toilet cistern filling up, or any other water used. Could be very hot or very cold. The twin bedroom could do with a wardrobe and more comfortable flooring. It felt very different to the rest of the house.

  • "5 The Nab House was fantastic."

Spacious, well furnished and equipped and in a fantastic location set back from the beach. The booking process was simple and with very good communication and information from Sykes. One issue. All the units share the old cold water main meaning the high pressure bath filler takes 40 minutes to fill the bath and the electric shower runs cold or shuts down due to low pressure. We got around the problem by using the bathrooms at 7am before other units were turning taps on or flushing loos. It didnt spoil our wonderful holiday but does need attention.

  • "Place was very comfortable - great beds, quiet, v clean."

Great location. However, considering price, it had scant equipment - other visitors had noted in book that needed cafetiere for those not wanting to use the coffee machine (for which there were no instructions) also no cheese grater, few serving dishes, and oven tricky to use despite instructions! TV didn't work either! very dodgy reception so essentially no use. As also noted before by previous visitors, downstairs shower controls also very tricky so shower either cold or scalding. Upstairs one better. No instructions for food scraps recycling although we worked that out.

  • "The best part about the apartment was the choice of decor."

It was tastefully done, comfortable and there was nothing that we missed. Everything right from milk, bread, short bread was kept by the owner before we reached and was a delightful welcome. The apolstry looked like it was tastefully done and picked up. There was no interference from anyone around either and added plus it was at a walkable distance from the beach. The main thing that the building lacked was in the design of the house. The roof is low on the top floor and stoops down on the ends causing us to bump our heads on it everytime we wanted to pick up something from the floor. Second thing was the stairs, they are every small. If you are slightly bigger like my husband, it will be difficult to walk around them. In fact he had a nasty fall during the last night that we were leaving and had to be given a first aid. So if you have young children who are not big enough to be careful around the stairs or are of bigger built you might want to look at this as a tip to be careful about. Having said that the owner also had a first aid kit which came handy during the fall. It was a delightful house and would have been better had the design of the house a bit more practical for families.

About the location

BEMBRIDGE

Ryde 7 miles; Newport 11 miles; Cowes 16 miles; Yarmouth 20 miles.

Bembridge sits on the most eastern point of the Isle of Wight, and it is claimed to be the biggest village in England. Bembridge used to be an island in its own right, and until the Victorian era, was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, hence Bembridge remains somewhat detached from the rest of the island even today, which adds to its charm. Bembridge is considered to be one of the most upmarket areas on the island and offers a surprisingly busy intertidal sheltered harbour, which is always full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats providing a constant flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour you will find quiet beaches consisting of sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming, beachcombing and crabbing and in high winds you will see plenty of kite surfing activity. As you walk along Bembridge beach, you will discover the lifeboat station, cafes and the famous Crab & Lobster Inn, as well as the magnificent Culver Cliffs as your backdrop. The village centre offers a good range of small shops, with its award-winning butcher's and 'The Best Dressed Crab in Town' which is situated in Bembridge harbour, you can also sample local produce from the greengrocer's, visit the art gallery and much more; in fact everything you should need while holidaying here.
