  • "Not just a holiday rental."

..a holiday home.property is spacious, clean with pleasing decor. Ideal location for the beach, river and town yet quiet and peaceful. And of most importance...the beds are very comfortable!

  • "Another nice stay at the holiday home."

The Wi-Fi was the only thing that was a bit of a let down, but this didn’t affect our stay. A few notes, the kitchen floor had a cracked tile on arrival, outside garden could do with a paint freshen up. Happy the en-suite toilet now flushes. Disappointed the Lula shack has had to relocate this was a big plus from our previous visit. Other pubs just don’t have the same appeal as not on beach and when we went exploring most were not open! Thankfully the home was home from home on that day!

Very nice property with plenty of room. Comfy seating and a decent sized dining table. Kitchen very well equipped, with only oven gloves needed from our holiday box. Welcome pack a nice touch. Thank you.

  • "Really nice!"

VERY comfy Fridge wasn’t overly clean, had to clean the drinks dispenser bit with an anti-bac wipe all brown and sticky, recliner chairs that are super comfy…but don’t recline as the cables been cut :-( wifi…deffo needs an upgrade more than one device at a time or trying to use upstairs you have no chance, steaming on the smart tv “you’re not connected” a fair few times :-( Tv is great though, smart tv, great pic and sound. Kitchen well equipped nice to have somewhere with EVERYTHING you need, oven really good, dishwasher v.good, washing machine in the utility used a few times too very good. Bedrooms nice and clean, very comfy with good quality M&S bedding :-) Bathrooms really good, good size, good showers. Cream tea and milk welcome pack was v.good too. Decent area to get out and about, would deffo look at alternative routes when off out sightseeing, BIG roadworks northbound A30, out through Truro and back round on to the A30 further up for us. Plenty of shops around, big Asda 5 min drive away, Lidl pretty much walking distance, not a bad priced Texaco garage near by, Maccies 2 min drive away too. Really good friendly chip shop Chandlers Plaice 8 min walk deffo try their homemade fishcake!

Black out blinds would have been really useful in the twin and single rooms and maybe a few more glasses and mugs but all in all we loved it and would definitely book again if we come back to Hayle

Ideally situated in a quiet residential area. This was our first holiday with a dog and the property was great Fully enclosed rear garden and a lovely park close by for dog walking as well as amazing beaches a short distance away. Cream tea welcome was much appreciated. We hope to come back again

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the house."

It is very roomy and comfortable. We had everything we needed, it is like a home from home . The welcome goodies were much appreciated and a nice touch. The location is very good, a 7 minute drive to the beach ,we even walked it on one of the days and close to the small town with few shops and pubs. We would highly recommend this cottage and would love to return again in the future.

  • "The property had everything you could want on a stay."

When we arrived the property had not been cleaned properly no fault of the owners. Had ongoing discussion with Sykes when we got home took over a week to get an apology in writing.Very unhappy.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the cleaners were heavily delayed due to the bad storms at the time your holiday started. They worked as quickly as they could when you told them you would be back in one hour but we understand you were still unhappy. We did all we could to rectify this matter and can see you were generously compensated for the inconvenience. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

  • "Very thoughtfully considered kitchen equipment."

Not often you go to a holiday let and there is everything you need in the kitchen. Felt that the decor/bathrooms/carpets could do with some updating for the price, as rather dated. Much appreciated the welcome pack, very well thought out.

The property

Located in the quiet little village of Phillack, just a couple of miles from the beautiful surfing beaches at Hayle, this modern family home offers a fantastic base for those seeking an active holiday.

The owner, who has an office just next to the house, has thought of everything you might possibly need during your stay, and the property is very well-equipped.

On the ground floor, a lovely sun room – a real bonus and lovely spot for an evening tipple – leads from the garden into the open plan living area with a lounge at one end and a large dining table at the other.

Reclining leather sofas and stylish furnishings create a restful area in which to relax at the end of the day.

The spacious and beautifully presented kitchen has a gleaming range cooker, plenty of storage and cookbooks, and even a television so that you don't need to miss out on anything whilst preparing dinner!

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms; the master with a television and en-suite shower room, another which can be presented as either a twin or king size room, and a single.

There is also a family bathroom on this floor.

Outside, the enclosed garden is something of a sun-trap, with a patio bordered by pretty plant pots, and outdoor furniture for alfresco dining.

When you are ready to explore, Pentewan is just a short stroll from Hayle estuary, a haven for birdlife and a lovely place to go for a walk.

Hayle town centre is within walking distance, with its numerous shops, pubs and restaurants.

There is also an outdoor swimming pool in Hayle (open during the summer months), as well as a children’s playground and Paradise Park bird and animal sanctuary with its huge indoor soft play centre.

Hayle’s glorious beaches are within a couple of miles of Pentewan, ideal for surfing, sunbathing and exploring rock pools and sand dunes.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters, and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafés where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries, or admire the colourful sub-tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Eden Project, St. Michael’s Mount and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
