The property is entered via electronic gates to the homely apartment which is on one level. 2 bedrooms (1 x double bed and 1 x twin beds). Both bedrooms have bedside tables, lamps, hanging space and drawers. The double also has an additional washhand basin in an alcove. The twin room also has an exercise bike. Comfortable lounge with 2 sofas, chairs, coffee table and sideboard. The spacious French style kitchen/diner has an extendable table and chairs, upper and lower kitchen units, double sink, electric oven/hob, frig/freezer, microwave and all cooking utensils, cutlery and china and many extras. The shower room has a shower cubicle, wc and wash basin in a vanity unit and a heated towel rail. All rooms have electric radiators except the kitchen which has it's own integral gas glass fronted fire. The inner hallway has a large wardrobe for additional hanging space and off this area is the utility room with washer/dryer, hoover, broom etc. The property is on the edge of Saintes in a small hamlet and within 1 km there is a bakery, small convenience store,butcher, post office, doctors and pharmacy etc. Within 5 mins drive you are in open countryside which is always changing with the seasons. The River Charente is an integral part of life in Saintes where you can hire boats or take cruises to Cognac, some in the evenings with meals on board. Many restaurants nearby serve Menu of the Day 3-course meals for as little at 10 - 12 Euros.
Convenient for arrival by A10 Junction 35 which is 10 mins from the property. From here you can visit the famous Roman landmarks in the city of Saintes with its cathedral 12th century and amphitheatre. The River Charente runs through the centre of the city and has boat trips/hire of boats etc. in the summer season to Cognac and other riverside locations. Visit the world famous distilleries of Cognac (30 mins) where you will find Hennessy, Martell and Remy-Martin and other renowned names. The Islands of Re & Oloron are close by and good for walking, swimmng and cycling. If you like to eat seafood you will be spoilt for choice with oysters in abundance. Drive to Bordeaux via the N137 passing through world famous vineyards en route in the areas of Medoc, Graves etc. or travel a little further from Bordeaux to visit the beautiful village of St Emilion. Bordeaux is an excellent city to visit with its historical and architectural buildings, shops and restaurants.

Once request is confirmed we will hold the booking for 7 days in which time we should receive your cheque/bankers draft or bank transfer. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. If the booking is within the 8 week period we will require the full amount. All transactions will be confirmed in writing immediately upon receipt.
Security Deposit:: 100 Euros in cash will be required on arrival against any damage which may occur and provided there is nothing to report we will refund the same cash amount in full on day of departure.
Cancellations:
Up to 8 weeks prior to arrival - no charges will be made.
Within 4 - 8 weeks - 50% refund
Within 2 - 4 weeks - 25% refund
Less than 2 weeks - no refund
