On a hill in a residential building, Il Mare is set on the first floor looking down to the sea and typical cliffs of the Amalfi coastline. Outside stone steps (70) lead from road level to the gardens surrounding the building and 20 indoor steps to the first floor of the building, bring us to the modern furnished in typical Mediterranean style apartment. Entrance into sitting/dining room with convertible divan bed (double), doors open to a terrace. Separate kitchen, well equipped with fridge/freezer, gas cooker with oven. Location Amalfi is located in the middle of the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy. The nearest restaurant is about 500 meters from the apartment. Il Mare apartment is only 3 Km. from the main square in Amalfi, where there are all amenities and entertainments, such as shops, banks, post office, bars and restaurants, etc... the sea is beautiful, and you will also find beach facilities, such as bars and restaurants. The Sita bus stop (bus line Amalfi/Positano/Sorrento approx every hour) is situated at 200 m. from Il Mare. The main bus terminal is in Amalfi, where all the buses arrive and depart from here, connecting with Positano, Sorrento, Ravello, Salerno, Naples. From the docks in Amalfi you will also be able to board ferries and hydrofoils to Positano, Capri, Salerno or Sorrento Coast and Naples, as well as go on mini-cruises for tourists. If you are fond of archaeology, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum are easily within reach, between 1 to 2 hours driving distance. How to get there There are several ways to get to Amalfi / Amalfi Coast from Naples Capodichino Airport or Naples / Salerno Train station either by renting a car or by public transport. The property is located 30 km. (19 miles) west of Salerno (about 50 minutes driving) and 70 km. (43 miles) southeast of Naples (about a 90 minute drive). By Public transport all depends on your arrival time at the airport/train station. Visit Amalfi Coast Transport to see which option (Bus or Ferry) will suit you best. The easiest way to reach any destination on the Amalfi Coast from Naples airport or train station is to hire a taxi for a private transfer. While it might seem an extravagant expense, the advantages far outweigh the cost. Since public transportation on the Amalfi Coast is easy to use and affordable and parking is expensive and very limited, renting a car is not recommended in general. Arranging for a private transfer reduces the stress of arriving on the Amalfi Coast and eliminates the expenses and difficulties of driving in the area.
