Tucked in a valley, it is surrounded by the mountains of the Llevant Natural Park along with some of the island's most beautiful rural plains. Be sure to visit on Tuesdays for its weekly market, which is famous for its local pottery and basket weaving. The historic town also has numerous sites to visit, including the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador and the legendary Caves d'Arta. If a day at the beach is in order, there are some stunning beaches nearby. Cala Torta is very much unspoilt and only reachable by 4x4 so you will feel a million miles away on the endless white sand and crystal clear waters. Cala Agulla is definitely worth a visit, the blue flag golden sand beach is surrounded by glorious pine forests and the mountains of Llevant Natural Park; and Cala Ratjada, a quaint fishing port with stunning coves, to explore.
