Details of the Gite

The accommodation comprises:
* Kitchen/diner with fitted units, single sink, gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster & coffee machine. Fridge freezer and washing machine.the kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery, glasses and utensils. There is an iron and ironning board. A farmhouse table and chairs in the dining area.

* Living room with 2 comfortable sofas, one being a double sofa bed. Satelite tv, dvd and music system with cd player. There are occassional tables and uplight.

* A cupboard in the lounge has a selection of books, magazines and games for your enjoyment. We have a selection of children's videos and video player available upon request.

* Bedroom 1 is a large double room with solid oak flooring, bedside tables with lights, wardrobe and washstand with a chair and mirror, with a door to an en-suite shower room, wc and sink. Power point for hairdrier or shaver included. A floor standing fan is also supplied. Double french doors open onto a private balcony furnished with table and chairs with views down the ¼ mile driveway, sand school and gardens.

* Bedroom 2 is a bunk bedroom with solid oak flooring, a clothes stand and hanging space, with a door to an en-suite shower room with wc, sink and power point. A floor standing fan is also supplied.

* All beds are made upon arrival and a weekly maid service is available upon request - spare blankets are supplied in each room.

* Bath and hand towels are provided and we ask guests to bring their own pool towels.

* A child's cot and high chair are available upon request at the time of booking

* The gite has oil-fired central heating, making an ideal base for winter lets

La Belena is located in Montbron, Charente

La Voute is situated near the village of Mainzac which is mid-way between Angouleme and Brantome on the border of the Charente and Dordogne, on the edge of the Perigord/Limousin natural park. The area is renowned for its gourmet food and local produce including foie gras, truffles and the delightful local aperitif, Pineau.
We are surrounded by wonderful countryside, fields of sunflowers in early summer abound, broadleaf woodlands full of red squirrels, deer and if you are lucky wild boar, picturesque villages, numerous chateaux, working mills, prehistoric caves, churches and vineyards.
The Angouleme area
Angouleme is a historic walled city, home of the National Comics and Image Centre and the venue of the historic vintage car race 'Circuit des Ramparts' in the autumn. In the old town of Angouleme there is a wide choice of gourmet restaurants, pavement café's, bistro's and shops.
La Voute is close to restaurants and bars in Hautefaye, Marthon, Rozet, Charras, Varaignes, Panivol and Javerlhac. Many of the local restaurants offer 5 course lunches with wine for around €14. During July & August, visit the pretty village of Varaignes for their weekly open air BBQ The market towns of Montbron, with monthly Brocante, Piegut, Nontron and La Rochefoucauld, are all close by. A Wednesday morning visit to the market in Piegut is a must.
The towns of Angouleme, Perigueux, Aubeterre and the world famous Cognac are all within easy reach. Brantome the Venic

Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy

GITE LA BELENA Booking form: Please read carefully. All bookings must be in writing and accompanied with the relevant payment. Please print/scan this form and post or e-mail it to us see the contact the given below.

1. We will not be liable for any act, neglect or default on the part of any person nor any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience whether to person or property which the tenant or any other person may suffer or incur arising out of or in any way connected with the letting or resulting from any other cause whatsoever. We advise you to arrange your own insurance to cover yourselves and your personal belongings whilst staying at the property.

2. If the booking is made within six weeks of the letting the whole of the rental payment is to be forwarded with your booking form, together with the security deposit of £100.

3. If the booking is made prior to six weeks of the letting a rental deposit of 30% of the rental sum is to be forwarded with your booking form. The remaining balance of the rental sum and the security deposit of £100 are to then due six weeks prior to the letting.

4. If a cancellation is requested more than six weeks in advance of the letting the balance of any monies paid, less the rental deposit, will be returned to the tenant. If the cancellation is requested within the six weeks prior to the letting the owner will retain the 30% rental deposit and also reserves the right to retain the balance of the rental (should it not be possible to re-let the property for this period).

5. The number of people occupying the property may not exceed the number on the booking form, unless prior written agreement is obtained.

6. The tenant agrees to keep the property and all fittings, furniture equipment and other contents in or on the property in a like state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the letting and will make good (or will arrange with us to make good) any damage, breakage, or loss that may occur during the period of letting.

7. Unless otherwise stated, the rental of the property includes, rates, insurance of the property gas and electricity. The property is equipped with crockery, cutlery, sheets, blankets and adequate cleaning equipment, linen and towels (not to be used as beach towels!).

8. Holiday lettings are by the week (unless by prior arrangement) from 4pm on the date of arrival to 10am on the date of departure. The time lapse is to enable the property to be inspected in
