The house is not in an isolated area. The village has a bar and restaurant and is 7kms from Jonzac, the nearest town, which has bars, shops, restaurants, cinema, 3 supermarkets, farmers market, a magnificent Chateau, fabulous aquatic Centre called Les Antilles and much much more.
Drives from the airports take a maximum of 75mins for La Rochelle, 60 mins Bordeaux and Angouleme. Driving from ports is relatively easy via the Autoroute networks which are simply 100% less stressful than British motorways!
The surrounding coutryside is, depending on the season, full of cognac vines, sunflowers and maize. Ideal for walking and cycling. The drive to the coast is easy and within forty minutes you will reach Meschers which has magnificant beaches and after this beaches that stretch all the way up the coast, such as St Georges de Didonne, Royan and St Palais Sur Mere.
Degustation (wine or cognac tasting) is everywhere and a delightful experience.
