The property of La Foce lies on the hills overlooking the Val d'Orcia. In the middle of Florence and Rome, it is also within easy reach of Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto. Renaissance and medieval gems such as Pienza, Montepulciano, Monticchiello and Montalcino are only a few miles away which is great for guests willing to explore. The food in this area is among the best in Tuscany and famous wines such as the Vino Nobile and Brunello can be tasted in the local cellars. known as an important settlement from Etruscan times (a burial-place dating from the 7th century BC to the 2nd AD has been recently excavated on the property), La Foce has been continuously inhabited for many centuries. The Villa itself which is available for weddings, celebrations, events and family reunions etc, was built in the late 15th century as a hostel for pilgrims and merchants travelling on this busy road. In 1924 it was lived in by Antonio and Iris Origo and the Villa became full of life and a prosperous farming center. The renowned gardens, designed for Iris by the English architect Cecil Pinsent, are considered today to represent the ideal combination between the natural landscape and XXth-century architecture, blending Italian and English traditions. #### Features The property can sleep up to 19 people, it is main up for the main villa and a seperate apartment. The main building sleeps up to 14 people, it boasts a library, a studio, frescoed dining room, a living room with satellite TV, four double bedrooms, a single bedroom and three bathrooms. On the first floor you will find two double bedroom with an en suite bathroom and another single bedroom. The property also has a big music area with a fireplace and access to the garden and the swimming pool. The seperate apartment has 5 beds, a changing room and a kitchen with a fireplace.
