Details of the Villa

Le Celle has been a part of the glorious landscape in the area surrounding the historic town of Cortona for many centuries. Offering sweeping views over the unspoilt countryside to all those lucky enough to visit this idyllic hillside spot, it's the perfect place to get away from it all. The wider area is dotted with farms and woodland; providing you with long walks and bike rides through the scenic surroundings. Nature lovers will also enjoy exploring the beautiful landscapes of nearby Lake Trasimeno Regional Park, with lots of wildlife and beaches to discover. At the heart of this characterful villa is a tower dating back to the 14th-century. Along with the rest of the property, it underwent a recent and tasteful renovation to create spacious accommodation for up to eight people. But there's still a wealth of historic features to admire throughout Le Celle, such as wood beams and floors made with original clay and marble tiles. Most of the four delightful bedrooms boast beautiful antique pieces and evocative art works; making you feel like you've stepped back in time as you retire for the night. Each has its own ensuite bathroom, adding an additional touch of luxury. This is especially the case with the bathroom that's home to a freestanding bath tub for total relaxation. Before you drift off into a peaceful night's sleep, spend cosy evenings in front of the antique fireplace with a book or chat on the sofa. The dining room is a grand space to enjoy meals. Sitting within an established estate that belonged to one of the most prominent old families in Tuscany, it's no surprise that the grounds of Le Celle are simply stunning. Wide areas of lush lawn are home to ancient stone walls and terraces, with lemon trees and other traditional Italian flora creating a dreamy atmosphere. Pass lazy afternoons in the swimming pool, resting on a pool-side lounger or strolling around the gardens. There are several al fresco dining areas to choose from. The main one offers plenty of shade as you take in some of the very best views. The nearest town of Cortona is full of amenities and shops, with many selling charming homemade items and wine from the nearby vineyards of Montepulciano. Great for longer days out are the cities of Perugia and Citta di Castello, with both being less than an hour's drive away. Perugia is famous for its chocolate, with a factory that you can take a tour around and try some chocolate for yourself. Soak up centuries of history and art in the city of Citta di Castello as you walk around its churches and galleries. #### Features Villa Interiors Ground Floor (split-level) - Living room with two sofas, open antique fireplace - Dining room with table for eight guests - Professional kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, blender, coffee machine, American coffee machine - WC First Floor - Double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and freestanding bath tub - Two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms with showers Second Floor - Double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower Outside Grounds - Swimming pool (16m x 5m, depth: 1.45m), open approximately May to October - Covered terrace with dining table for eight guests - Gardens - Barbecue - Sun loungers - Seating areas - Parking Facilities - Wi-Fi - Air-conditioning - Washing machine and dryer - Iron and ironing board - Hair dryer - Children's bikes (additional cost - please enquire) - Mosquite nets #### Location Around 15 minutes away by car is the historic town of Cortona (5km).
