The ground floor of the cottage features three spacious double bedrooms all having luxury en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a pine-beamed vaulted ceiling and French windows leading onto one of the patios – perfect for breakfast or dining under the stars on balmy summer evenings.

Upstairs a set of 3 linked open plan reception rooms with beamed ceilings, stripped pine floors and floor to ceiling windows with views over the attractive North Devon countryside.

Plug your iPod into the docking station and relax with friends or a good book on one of the 3 comfortable sofas arranged around a wood burning fire. Perfect for cosy autumn evenings after a dinner in the spacious dining area featuring a stripped pine table and church-style pews.

The master bedroom has a zip and link bed, set up as a king-sized bed, (which can be separated to form 2 single beds if requested in advance).

Shirwell is an old Devon village just north of Barnstaple. Sir Francis Chichester is buried in the churchyard of the village's 12th Century Church, Youlston Park to which Abscott belongs is his boyhood home.

Abscott Cottage is wonderfully located for discovering North Devon, being within easy reach of Devon's finest beaches such as Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe. Enjoy bracing cliff top walks along the South West Coastal footpath with spectacular views between Combe Martin and Lynton or lose yourself in the wild grandeur of the Exmoor National Park with its ancient villages.

Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy

A deposit of 30% is required to secure a booking. The balance is payable eight weeks prior to your arrival date together with a £300 refundable security deposit.

Up to two dogs can be accommodated at £25 per dog per booking.

Price includes linen, towels, first basket of logs and a welcome hamper.
