eDahlia is situated on a well maintained private complex with a shared heated pool. The pool is open from May to September. The complex is on a hillside opposite the lovely village of Carlux offering a stunning panorama of the village and surrounding countryside. This pretty village and it's amenities, butcher, baker, grocer and bar/restaurant, can be reached in 8 minutes through a shaded woodland walk or a two minute drive for the less energetic. There is parking for one car at the door of the gite for easy unloading. The Dordogne River with it's canoeing and walking and cycle path is just 2 kilometres from the village. All the major historical sites, adventure parks and beauty spots are within easy driving distance. The stunning medieval town of Sarlat is approximately 12 km away. It holds a market twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday and has many beautiful shops, restaurants and banks with ATM points. It is beautifully lit up by night . Souillac is another charming town on the Dordogne river and is a ten minute drive from the gite. It has a good supermarket and petrol station, Leclerc, and a Friday morning market in the town. Rocamador, Beynac, Domme and Le Roc Gageac are all beautiful towns within easy driving distance of the gite and well worth a visit. There are many music festivals and fetes held in the local towns and villages throughout the summer. There are countless restaurants in the area, one of the best being the Hostelerie de Bequingolle nearby.
The departments of the Dordogne and the Lot are amongst the most beautiful and picturesque in France. Dominated by two periods of history, from the early days of mankind to the mediaeval period the region is full of historical monuments sited in spectacular countryside with one of France's most beautiful rivers weaving its way through it.

The village of Carlux, dominated by the ruins of its 13th century chateau sits at the heart of all of these sites. Within a 45 minute drive you will find the vast majority of the principle sites of the Dordogne and the Lot.
A 20% deposit will secure a booking. The balance of payment to be made 8 weeks before the arrival date. A separate damage deposit cheque of £100 is required and will be returned when the housekeeper checks the gite on departure.
Payment includes tax de sejour (tourist tax) water, gas and electricity except during the winter months when electricity is a separate charge.
