This beautiful villa (local lodging license AL 10625) is located in Galamares within a 4km drive or 1,5km trail walk to World Heritage Sintra. It is a 7min drive to various beaches, 15min to Cascais and 35min to downtown Libon. It is in a very quiet area and offers lots of sunlight since its facing south. The private heated swimming pool and the 60m2 living room enjoy a splendid clear view over the Sintra mountain and Monserrate palace which is lighted up in the evenings. There are no buildings directly in front of the house. It has 800 m2 of a well cared garden with a tall palm tree, pine trees, flowers and grass areas. It has a relaxing veranda over the pool and an outdoor covered lounge area with sofas in front of the BBQ area. It has satellite TV (80 channels), DVD, stereo, wireless Internet, a permanent table tennis, heating and air-conditioning. Within a 5 minute walk are 5 restaurants, 100 year old tram line, bus stop, butcher and a grocery store. Ten excellent golf courses are within a 10-30 min drive. Along the seaside there are many seafood restaurants, cafés and walking trails. Beaches and seaside sights Nearby beaches include Praia das Maçãs with its various seafood restaurants, cafés and craft shops, Praia Grande, a huge beach with many cafés and various surfing schools and Praia da Adraga, voted the most beautiful in Europe in 2003. Two giant seawater swimming pools with all facilities including kid´s pool can be found by the beaches. Cabo da Roca, Europes most western point and Azenhas do Mar, a village perched on a cliff, are 9km away. Sintra, within a 5 min drive or 20 minute walk through mountain trails, offers such sites as the National Palace, Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Seteais Palace, Moorish Castle, Monserrate Palace, Capuchos Convent, the old historical center and many botanical gardens. The villa is located 35 Km (a 45 min train ride) from the airport or Lisbon centre with its many historical monuments, the Alfama Moorish area with live fado music and the Bairro Alto bar hopping area. Cascais nightlife and Estoril casino are 14km away. Historical sights and things to do -There are a few local shops and restaurants within a 5 min walk from the house. Large supermarkets are 7km away. - Shops, banks, restaurants available 4 Km away in Sintra. - Huge shopping mall with cinemas, CascaisShopping, is 15min away. - Sintra´s historical sights opened to the public are: Pena Palace Arab castle Regaleira palace Village National palace Monserrate palace Capuchos convent Old historical center Various botanical gardens Many of the sights can be reached by foot from the house through a calm walking trail. - Colares wine cellar is 4 km away. - There are golf courses 8km from the house, Beloura and Penha Longa, and 15 km in Cascais or Belas. - Morning market in Sintra, weekend street market near Colares. - the seaside fishing town of Ericeira is 25km away - a 35min drive or 45min train ride takes you to Lisbon. - It is advisable to hire a car.
