Casa Estombar is a quirky home located in the small village of Estombar, close to the beaches of Ferragudo and Portimao. The villa can accommodate four guests across its two bedrooms and offers a quiet home away from the busy towns. Guests enter on the ground floor and are welcomed into the open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas. This communal space is filled with character, with a large window above the kitchen allowing natural light to flood in. The living room has a large sofa, a television, and overflowing bookshelves, making for a snug space in both summer and winter. The dining table sits at the centre of the space and is great for big group meals, whilst the fully equipped, the modern kitchen becomes a hub for activity, with a breakfast bar, wine rack and plenty of space for everyone to gather around. With everything needed for some great home cooking, you and your guests can share lovely evenings over a delicious meal, pairing it with a glass or two of local wine! There are two double bedrooms in the villa, both with their own en-suite bathrooms. Outside the terrace is as charming and well-designed as the interiors. There are several shops and restaurants within a short walk of the villa, perfect for an evening meal out, or a relaxed amble in the afternoon. Within easy reach of some of the Algarve's top places to visit, this is a fantastic base for exploring the beauty of the area. Whether you are looking for beaches, historic sites, waterparks or a variety of it all, there is something for everyone in this amazing area. The most well-known village in this municipality is Carvoeiro, a vibrant tourist town with a city beach. With its colourful houses, fishing boats and dramatic cliffs, Carvoeiro is one of the most photographed places in the entire Algarve. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and bars for you to choose from, ideal for a day of exploring. Sheltered by majestic cliffs, the sandy bays are perfect for chilling out in the sun and swimming in the sea. For those who do not enjoy lazy days on a sun lounger, there are plenty of activities to get involved with. There is a range of water sports, including jet-skiing, snorkelling, sea kayaking and pedaloes. Or, for the more adventurous, you can take a boat trip around the magnificent coastline and explore the secret caves and snorkel around the cliff edges. The beautiful Praia de Marinha is also just a short drive away and has been voted one of the top ten beaches in the world – a must-visit! The options in the area certainly do not stop at beaches, with some brilliant hiking routes along clifftops and into the mountains, as well as some renowned cycling routes. There are two water parks within a short drive of the villa, as well as a thrilling theme park, sure to delight any younger guests. Steeped in history, there are sites to visit and Portuguese heritage to delve into. On the cliffs above Carvoeiro, visit the remains of the walls of the Fort of Senhora da Conceicao, dating back to the 17th century. You can take a day trip to the Moorish castle in Silves, travelling by car or by boat along the Arade river.
