The outdoor pool, terrace and dining area is superb. The beautiful pool has Roman steps leading into it making it easy and safe for children. There are a fantastic barbecue and spacious outside food preparation area. There is also an outdoor shower. It has a large variety of shops, picturesque houses and a relaxing seaside pedestrian route that goes on forever! It is lovely to take a stroll admiring the beautiful views. The Profitis Ilias church is a local landmark located on a hill and offering glorious panoramic views. Fig Tree Bay is one of the best beaches in the area where you can enjoy the calm turquoise waters, lay down on the incredible white sand and take part in many watersports if you wish. Bars and restaurants serve delicious food, cocktails and frappes. If you fancy a walk, you can take the coastal boardwalk and explore the rock cave at the north end of the beach or take the coastal hiking trails to Louma Beach and Lombardi Beach. The variety of watersports includes parasailing, jet skis, water skiing, wakeboarding, self-drive speed boats, banana boats and you can arrange diving trips. All year round you can scuba dive at Cyclops Bay, Green Bay, the Chapel, the Canyon, the Blue Hole and two wrecks – the Nemesis III and Liberty Wrecks. Cape Greco is also known as Cave Greco. It is at the southern end of Famagusta Bay between Protaras and Ayia Napa. It is a protected nature park and a wonderful place to see. Ayia Napa, just 10-15 minutes away from Protaras, is very busy with beach parties, karaoke bars and nightclubs and has tourists flocking for the entertainment. It does also have a gentler side with 14 Blue Flag beaches, wonderful cobbled streets and fantastic tavernas on the harbourside and a Medieval monastery. While you are in Cyprus, you might like to visit the brooding Troodos Mountains. There you will find it wonderful for fresh woodland walks in fragrant pine forests, wine tours in local vineyards and visiting ancient churches and monasteries. The Troodos National Park is divided into five areas – Troodos village, Marathasa northwest of the park, Solea towards the northeast, Pitsilia located in the east and Machairas further east. Troodos village sits at the foot of the Mount Olympus, the tallest peak. Marathasa is home to the most famous monastery in Cyprus – Kykkos.
