Unobstructed sea views, pool views and colourful sunsets can be enjoyed from the verandas of all three bedrooms. The spacious ground floor comprises an open plan, bright lounge and dining area, both adjacent to the swimming pool and the sun terrace, creating a true relaxation atmosphere while you enjoy a cocktail or while you have your evening meal from one of the many nearby restaurants offering traditional Greek and international cuisines. The villa is fully equipped with utensils and electrical appliances as well as Wi-Fi, LCD TV, DVD player, PlayStation 2, air-condition in all rooms, indoor and outdoor kids play items. No doubt, this villa is an idyllic holiday retreat for beach lovers, for couples and for families alike as well as for those who don’t want to depend on a car while on holidays. And what a holiday that would be! Maria’s home is located in Peyia, Paphos, Cyprus. Peyia (also spelt Pegeia; Greek: ???e?a) is a town in the Paphos District of Cyprus. Peyia is situated mainly on the steep slopes of the coastal hills inland from Coral Bay, at the southern end of the Akamas Peninsula, and it lies 14 km north of Paphos. It has a large population of British ex-pats and a growing number of holiday homes and apartments. In the town centre, one can find several small shops, traditional taverns and restaurants, bars, the town hall, police station, church, pharmacy, supermarkets and banks. Due to its hillside location many parts of the town offer views over Coral Bay and Paphos and sunsets are truly magical. More information In the past, villagers had to collect their water from the local spring or 'vrisi'. It was here that everyone met, especially the young men of the village who would congregate to watch the young girls collecting water in their red clay pitchers. It is said that to drink the Pegeia spring water made the girls beautiful and several songs were written about the vrisi, one of which, 'Spring of Pegeia Woman' is still sung today. The vrisi is still visible though little visited except by newly weds, as this is where a great number of wedding ceremonies are now conducted. The vrisi is in a paved area to one side of the municipal car park in the centre of the village. Getting around Public transport comprises of bus service and taxis. A 'shared' taxi service locally known as service taxis are much less expensive than a private taxi. There are many private taxi companies that provide service to all areas of Cyprus. Taxis can be hailed in the street or you can call about half an hour to an hour ahead of time to reserve one. There are also numerous taxi stands throughout all towns that you can stop by to get one or reserve. Fees can be discussed and arranged ahead of time for certain trips and tipping is optional, but many drivers do expect tips but no more than 10% if you decide to tip. Fares are metered after an initial starting fee and the metered rate is a fixed rate. Taxi fares are regulated by law and there are different rates for day and night. There is island wide bus service running every day and main routes have buses departing every 1-2 hours. Local routes have buses departing from main stops every 15 minutes in the summer. Buses around Cyprus and even in Paphos are not consistent in appearance, however the destination is usually displayed clearly in the windscreen. Bus time tables and schedules can be found at the tourist offices or from the bus companies. Some bus service stop at approximately 6:00pm and there may be limited service on weekends.
