Details of the Chateau

Atti Tower is a breathtaking historical tower rising from the woods and overlooking rolling scenery, akin to something from a Renaissance painting. This enchanting home is like a vision out of the pages of a fairy tale: a medieval tower set on a hilltop overlooking the rural hills of Umbria. Built in the 12th century, this unique residence blends history and designer flair. Formerly the home of an aristocratic family, it offers sleek, yet original interiors over five storeys, comprising five double bedrooms and seven bathrooms, with a kitchen on both the ground, third and fourth floor. Each room has been faithfully restored within the spirit of the original building; terracotta tiled flooring, exposed original stone and timber beams, stone fireplaces and ancient doors. Against this mythical backdrop, the interiors have been artfully and gracefully finished, and in a chic, and contrasting twist, uber modernist pieces sit magnificently alongside such a historical backdrop. Bold, contemporary art and designer pillar box red sofas alongside the rustic, deliciousness of the ancient architecture. Epitomising modern rustique, the bedrooms are executed with vivid charisma and bold colour choices, along with a designer verve that displays both confidence and timeless charm. From the glossy crimson painted bed alongside antique, rustic style dressing table, with the original recessed castle windows and pretty shutters, this is a home with a difference. A beautiful hand carved timber bed in solid walnut is offset by crisp, quality cotton linens, and glittering chandeliers, whilst a vivid burgundy wrought iron bed has a fresco as its centrepiece; from statement art, to antique porcelain artefacts and funky lighting - this is an unforgettable home. The evocative and glamorous interiors continue through the slick, modern yet quintessentially discreet bathrooms; huge corner tubs and local glass tiles, along with the earthy and neutral palettes of the castle and its creamy interiors. A vivacious dining room accommodates ten - a fabulous setting for lively group meals, whilst the main kitchen is something rather unique. Punchy bright orange cupboards, cobalt blue and perspex chairs offering an eat-in option, whilst the living room is sedate, genteel, yet also brimming with character - with cosy sofas and statement art, along with the original fireplace. The piece de resistance has to be the roof top terrace, offering panoramic views of the rolling hills and a peerless spot to enjoy a glass of local wine. Why should you book it? Atti Tower is a uniquely captivating home, offering glorious views and a taste of authentic Umbria. This unforgettable place, that somehow time forgot, is also ideal for special occasions such as family celebrations or anniversaries, or simply an opportunity to holiday “far from the madding crowd” with a touch of medieval flavour in ones' very own castle! #### Features Villa Interior Ground Floor - Dining room - Living room with sofas and seating area - Bathroom First Floor - Connecting area for ground and first floor Second Floor - 2 modern living rooms with contemporary furnishings - 2 double bedrooms - 2 bathrooms Third Floor - 1 living room - 2 double bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - 1 kitchen Fourth Floor - 1 living room - 1 fully equipped kitchen - 1 double bedroom - 1 small double bedroom (1 adult or 2 children) - 2 bathrooms Outside Grounds - Gardens comprising lawns, woods, antique rose gardens - 18th century chapel (suitable for small celebrations) - Rooftop terrace with panoramic views - Swimming pool - Terrace - Al fresco dining - Covered parasol gazebo - Barbecue Facilities - Wi-Fi - Sunbeds #### Location Atti Tower is excellently located in the heart of Umbria, with Perugia, Spoleto and Orvieto all about thirty minutes away by car. Assisi, birthplace of St Francis, is likewise about the same distance, and offers a mystical spot seeped with history and a beautiful historical abbey. Spoleto boasts a colourful and intriguing history as well as artistic heritage dating back to Roman times; the town itself offers authentically Umbrian winding streets, artisan cafes, crafts-based shopping, as well as the castle and many churches which are centuries old. Spoleto is known today for its annual summer Festival Dei Due Mondi, a showcase to the region's music, dance, opera and theatre. History lovers will be spoilt - from the first century Roman amphitheatre to the twelfth century duomo, to the fourteenth century hilltop fortress, Rocca Albornoziana, the glut of remnants from the medieval and Bronze Age past are impressive. The surrounding woods and mountains offer an abundance of opportunity for hiking, trekking and exploring the natural wonders of this region, including Saint Francis of Assisi's retreat paths. Orvieto's centrepiece is the Duomo, with an underground tunnelling system, the antique papal residence, the “Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo” as well as an array of other historical buildings. The region is also known for its black truffle and wines and wonderful cuisine. Furthermore, Rome and Florence are both accessible within a day trip. Whilst the closest amenities are in the medieval town of Todi (10km), which comes alive during the summer with festivals, music and theatre.
