Ski Chalets & Accommodation Worldwide

It's the time of the year when the ski and snowboarding season is upon us again. It has to be said that going on ski holidays, especially in Europe, is becoming more accessible and affordable. With the ever expanding network of low cost airlines such as easyJet and Ryanair, ski resorts all over Europe are attracting skiiers not only to the usual popular destinations but also to previously undiscovered slopes. The appeal of ski holidays have broadened as well and more people now visit ski resorts for the night life and entertainment some alpine resorts are famous for. Booking flights and ski accommodation separately could cost considerably less than traditional ski deals. From established French ski resorts such as Chamonix, to up and coming destinations such as Bansko in Bulgaria, the wide range of luxury ski chalets and other cheap ski accommodation will ensure winter sports lovers are spoilt for choice.

France

Although skiing in France might not be the cheapest option, the quality of resorts and the high standard facilities are unrivalled. From beginners to advanced skiers, the variety of resorts and ski runs will keep skiiers and snowboarders of all ability happy. Younger crowds may want to consider lively locations such as Val d'Isere for the colourful apres ski and night life.

Switzerland

The imposing mountains of the Swiss Alps, and in particular the Valais region, form the perfect backdrop for winter breaks in this charming wonderland. Mountain villages such as Verbier, Grindelwald and Wengen exude traditional alpine chic and provide some of the most stunning scenery in the region. Sheltered in the shadow of the Matterhorn, chalets and apartments in Zermatt rank amongst the most exclusive ski accommodation in Europe.

Austria

Warm hospitality, high quality service combined with extensive ski runs have kept Austria one of the top European ski destinations. The Arlberg and Tirol regions see some of the best alpine villages for skiiers, boarders and those who enjoy vibrant apres ski; St. Anton, Kaprun and Mayrhofen are just a few of the well-loved resorts that attract visitors from Europe and all over the world year after year.

USA & Canada

For those who have crossed the Atlantic and skied in North America before, many will agree that the additional costs are completely justifiable. Many resorts are snow-sure and have varied and extensive pistes that are very often not crowded. Top resorts and world class facilities can be found in Colorado in USA and British Columbia in Canada.

Bulgaria

In recent years Bulgaria has emerged as a popular destination for cheap ski holidays. The huge number of new chalet and apartment developments in Bansko and other cities means holiday accommodation is plentiful, affordable and of high standard. Bansko is the most visited ski resort in Bulgaria favoured by Brits and other European visitors. The relatively close proximity to Greece is a major reason why many Greek tourists choose to ski in Bansko.

Other European Ski Destinations

Although winter sports holidays in Europe are dominated by France, Austria and Switzerland, there are also other countries that offer high quality facilities, varied ski runs and fantastic snow conditions. Many will be pleasantly surprised by the excellent value-for-money some destinations offer if you are prepared to look a little further afield, including Italy, Andorra and Slovenia.
