On 1st April 1957, the BBC broadcasted this report on their current affairs programme Panaroma. It featured a family in southern Switzerland harvesting spaghetti from their 'spaghetti trees'. This is widely regarded as the most stunning April's Fool ever pulled by a reputatable organisation.
