The living and dining area is open plan and traditionally decorated in the local style and the large windows mean it is light and airy. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped and the indoor and outdoor spaces flow perfectly. There are four bedrooms which sleep nine guest and are all fully air conditioned and there are also four bathrooms. The stunning pool is set on a terrace surrounded by sunbeds and there is also plenty of lush green garden to enjoy, fragrant with lavender beds, mature shrubs and olive trees where you will be able to find plenty of shade to relax with a good book. Within a few hundred yards, visitors will be able to access cafes, supermarkets and restaurants. Islamlar is know for its locally styled, family run restaurants - the closest is within walking distance. Whether it be beaches, the Salikent National Park, or the Berzigan Plateau, this is a region of stunning and varied natural beauty. Islamlar is in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, yet close to local restaurants, for a blend of rural beauty along with traditional small town Turkey. The village provides an insight into rural Turkish life which has remained unchanged for generations. Full of olive groves and vineyards and where the flour for the bakery is still ground using an old water-powered millstone. The region is known for its trout farm restaurants Kalkan and the beaches are only about fifteen minutes distance, whilst the local restaurants serve authentic Turkish food using locally produced organic ingredients. Away from the glitzy resorts and the bustle of the tourists, Islamlar offers refreshing retreat, being slightly cooler than at sea level; city dwellers head to the Islamlar restaurants for respite from the heat, whilst the region is a natural choice for walkers with the famous Lycian Way. For more classic resort style amenities, Kalkan offers well-heeled restaurants, smart boutiques for shopping, as well as long stretches of sandy beaches with clear waters. Whether it be boat trips, water sports or mooching around local markets, Kalkan has abundant options for visitors to soak up the local flavour whilst enjoying a taste of authentic Turkey. An incredibly scenic coastal road southwards takes visitors to the pretty town of Kas or, about an hour further on, the fascinating, submerged ruins and historic castle of Kekova-Simena make a delightful destination for a day trip. Once the place Kalkan folk went to cool off at one of the trout farms built to make use of the mountain’s springs. Today Islamlar houses many a villa, enjoyed by Istanbul Turks who prefer a holiday in slightly cooler and cleaner air. Here the locals grow grapes and pomegranates, but you’ll mainly see the men sat gossiping next to the local teahouse. The trout farms remain a place to come for a wonderful fresh meal, or a breakfast consisting of fresh local fare. The rocket will be the freshest & most tasty you’ve ever had; and the fresh chips cooked in olive oil take some beating. Travelling to Turkey All British (and most other nationalities) citizens require a full 10 year passport with at least 6 months validity to enter Turkey. UK passport holders are exempt from visa for tourist visits of up to 90 days within 180 days starting from the first entry date. Other 2 In Turkey the plumbing system is not designed to have paper and sanitary items flushed down the lavatory. In these cases a bathroom bin is provided.
