Only a few kilometres from the beautiful “White City” of Ostuni and the attractive beaches of the Adriatic coast, lies Terra Sessana. This prestigious complex spans 4 hectares and consists of 3 properties: a restored trullo house from the 1700s a romantic one bedroom house, built in a local architectural style, known as a “Lamia” and a villa with a large garden overlooking the sweeping fields of the Sessana district. The property takes its name from the area in which it is located: Contrada Sessana, whose name, in turn, derives from the Latin “sanus”, meaning “healthy” and brings to mind the idea of a healthy life in harmony with nature. Each property has its own swimming pool set in private gardens with lush lawns, ancient olive trees and views across the surrounding countryside. The interiors have been tastefully decorated with refined yet comfortable furnishings, which perfectly complement the antique flooring, stone vaulted ceilings and stone fireplaces. The blue sky, olive trees, fragrance and colours of the natural Mediterranean vegetation provide a perfect backdrop to this enchanting place offering guests peace and serenity in close contact with the regenerative powers of the countryside. The trulli, the villa and the lamia are self contained and autonomous, and can be rented together or separately. Lamia The name “lamia” refers to a traditional stone building in the Puglia region. The Lamia at Terra Sessana has been converted into a refined one-bedroom villa, with original stone-vaulted ceilings and 19th century paved flooring. The Lamia consists of a living room with two single sofa-bed, fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher and washing machine), a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Outside, the swimming pool is located in a panoramic position overlooking the picturesque countryside of the Valle d’Itria.
