Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with lively piazzas, beautiful churches, archaeological treasures and a fascinating history stretching back over many years. Immerse yourself in authentic Roman life by staying at a stylish apartment within a 16th century building just a short walk from the famous Piazza di Spagna and iconic Spanish Steps. Each of these elegant air-conditioned one bedroom apartments is beautifully designed and furnished - original features stylishly blend with contemporary comfort. A sofa bed in the elegant living room can easily create space for another two lucky guests. A couple of apartments have a private terrace and a few have an additional dining area which can be requested on booking, subject to availability. All enjoy the luxuries of complimentary buffet breakfasts, daily maid service, concierge, mini bar and sumptuous bathrobes and slippers. Take a few steps through your exclusive neighbourhood to the nearby Piazza di Spagna, admire the Fontana della Barcaccia and call into the Keats-Shelley Memorial House. Visualise the families and travellers who have congregated for centuries on The Spanish Steps, the widest and longest staircase in Europe leading up to the lovely church of Trinita dei Monti. Browse in the prestigious designer shops of Via Condotti or take a walk to the peaceful Borghese Gardens. You are in a fantastic location here, perfect for so many of the finest historical sites as well as great restaurants and shops. Toss a coin into the Trevi fountain before heading to the Pantheon, Roman Forum, Colosseum or the remarkable Vatican City. Wander around some of the lesser known but equally delightful parts of Rome to find a bar for a quiet aperitivo before dinner. An electric bike tour or a night time Segway excursion is an exciting way to view the city and there are day trips to the wonders of Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast and Positano. There are fabulous wine and food tasting tours in the nearby Roman countryside and some atmospheric walking along the ancient Appian Way. Wherever you go, you are sure to want to return to your comfortable and stylish apartment in the centre of this wonderful city. #### Features Please note there is a group of ‘Paoli' one-bedroom apartments and you will be allocated one on arrival. Start your explorations on an English theme by taking tea at the Babington Tearooms or visiting the home of the romantic poet, Keats, both in Piazza di Spagna. A brief walk away, throw a coin for luck (ensuring you return to Italy) into the Trevi Fountain and afterwards order coffee and mouth-watering cornetti in the pretty piazza before taking the short stroll to the impressive Pantheon. Take a tour of the underground grottoes of St Peter's Basilica before marvelling at Michelangelo's extraordinary ceiling in the Sistine Chapel and exploring the Vatican Museum. Book a ticket for a tour of the Roman Forum, Colosseum and the Palatine Hill. Rome is renowned for its fantastic food and fine wine so try out a few of its excellent restaurants, pizzerias and trattorie or take a street food tour with a local guide to sample some local delicacies. Enjoy tranquillity away from city bustle in the lovely Borghese Gardens, under a kilometre from your apartment. The National Gallery of Modern Art inside the park is well worth a visit or you may just prefer to sit on a bench or try out your rowing skills on the lake. There are so many interesting neighbourhoods in Rome, many with centuries of history behind them. One of the most picturesque is Trastavere, just across from the Tiber River with tiny cobbled streets lined by ancient houses, lively bars with craft beers and traditional and innovative trattorie. It is an area that has always attracted artists, film makers and musicians. Take an early morning walk towards the market square at Campo de' Fiori and turn into a small side street, Arco degli Acetari, to find another hidden gem - a courtyard of picture-perfect houses, the subject of many a photograph. A walking tour that guides you “off the beaten track” will take you to other lesser known city treasures. Take a panoramic Hop-On Hop-Off bus ride around Rome or head out of the city centre and walk along the ancient Appian Way to absorb the centuries of history. For a day out further afield, there are trips further afield to Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast, sandy beaches near Fiumicino and plenty of fun filled food and wine tasting tours in the Roman countryside.
