Details of the Villa

Offering seven bedrooms and the perfect combination of historic style and contemporary touches, the villa has been recently converted into a fine holiday home and is set to be a firm favourite with large families and groups of friends. Many of the seven bedrooms have been styled with elegance, tradition, and character, including Mallorquin style four poster beds, beautifully tiled flooring, and historical furniture contrasted with contemporary art adorning the walls. Even the more straightforward bedrooms have Mallorquin touches added, and every room has the great convenience of its en-suite bathroom. There is an elegant dining table perfect for friends to gather at the end of the day and comfortable living areas for families to kick back and relax. The large kitchen has everything you need to prepare a feast of local delights or hire a chef to do the hard work. In addition, the delightful restaurants, cafes and local bars of Soller are just a few minutes' walk away for a lingering Spanish lunch or after dinner drinks. On warm sunny days, there is a fantastic swimming pool with sun-loungers dotted around the grassy lawns and terraces, surrounded by the sweet smell of citrus trees so typical of the area when the fruit is in season. A dreamy wisteria covered pergola with al-fresco dining areas opens up a characterful and spacious courtyard, perfect for a casual Petanque game or bathing in the sun. This area is a walkers paradise, and many of the paths through the Serra de Tramuntana start or pass through the town. There are also many gentle walks for those less experienced yet still want to explore the beauty of this area. There are two beaches in nearby Port de Soller, a short drive or you can take the old tram from the centre of Soller. Platja d'en Repic beach is popular with families, or the closer Platja des Traves, where you can hire pedal boats. You can also pick up a boat trip to the mountainous coastline of Sa Calobra, where it's a short walk to the Torrent de Pareis. Whether an extended family gathering or a large group of friends, this historic home is a unique property to enjoy in this idyllic corner of the island. Soller has earned its reputation as a fantastic holiday destination from spectacular unspoilt scenery, characterful villages, unforgettable treks, and fine dining. Soller sits in the heart of the 'valley of oranges' which brought the otherwise isolated town great wealth in the nineteenth century as they exported fruit to France. Many locals went over to work and came back with their fortunes, many to build the Modernista architecture that can be discovered today. In the early twentieth century the narrow-gauge wooden railway train opened to transport fruit to Palma. It is now open to tourists and the 30km journey through orange groves, mountain tunnels and beautiful scenery is the perfect way to visit the magnificent city of Palma on a day trip. This area is a walkers paradise and many of the paths through the Serra de Tramuntana start or pass through the town. There are also many gentle walks for those less experienced yet still want to explore the beauty of this area. Bike rental is also possible and a good way to potter between the nearby villages as well as more challenging routes. The nearest beach is in Port de Soller, a short drive or you can take the old tram from the centre of Soller. With a rich maritime past this area escaped the over development of other parts of the island and it is now a pleasant sea-side resort with good facilities. There are two beaches – Platja d'en Repic beach which is popular with families and the closer Platja des Traves, where you can hire pedal boats. You can also pick up a boat trip to the mountainous coastline of Sa Calobra where it's a short walk to the Torrent de Pareis. Villages in the area not to be missed include the stunningly beautiful Fornalutx in the mountains, idyllic and artistic Deia near the sea and a little further south is the rural town of Valldemossa in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana.
