The name of the place comes from the mills (Mlini means "mills") that used to be moved by the waters of the rivulet Zavrelja. There is a beautiful promenade and a small harbour from which the boats depart several times a day to Dubrovnik, Cavtat and nearby islands. You will find here many sandy, pebble and hidden beaches. There are many restaurants and cafe bars in the immediate area. Dubrovnik is Croatia's most popular tourist destination, and it's not difficult to see why. An essentially medieval town reshaped by Baroque planners after a disastrous earthquake of 1667, Dubrovnik's historic core seems to have been suspended in time ever since. Set-piece churches and public buildings blend seamlessly with the green-shuttered stone houses, forming a perfect ensemble relatively untouched by the twenty-first century.
