This light, clean and warm holiday flat is right beside Ohope Beach but is non-luxury so comes at a budget price.
The living room and main bedroom both open onto a lawn and small patio area, and from there to the dunes – just walk through (no road in front) to Ohope Beach and 11 idyllic kilometres of swimming, surfing, beach-walking, and fishing!
The flat does not have a sea view, because it is at ground level.
It has its own entrance, plus off-street parking for one car.
Inside, there is an open-plan living room (not large) and kitchen, a double bedroom (queen bed), a second bedroom with single beds (one is slightly narrower than modern singles); and a bathroom with WC, vanity and shower.
The kitchen is equipped with stove (hob and oven), microwave, and fridge / freezer.
The standard of the flat is about 3-stars: it has been renovated but it is not luxurious, and the stove is old. This is reflected in the tariff, which is set at budget-level for a beachfront flat.
Beach Lodge is on a quiet stretch of the beach, away from the more crowded areas.
But it is only a few minutes’ drive from shops and restaurants; from the beautiful harbour with its wharf, fishing and kayaking; and from golf, bowls and tennis. It is five mins walk from the Ohope chartered club which welcomes visitors from other chartered clubs.
Ohope Beach is magic if you like beach holidays, and the area is one of the sunniest parts of NZ.

Ohope is a long beach with holiday houses. A great beach for swimming, body-boarding, surfing, etc. On the other side of the Ohope peninsula (a few hundred metres away) is Ohiwa harbour with fishing, sailing and boating. There is a links golf course at the end of the Ohope peninsula.
Ohope is six km from the small town of Whakatane which has supermarkets, banks, etc. Whakatane has the most sunshine hours of any town in NZ.
The whole area is extremely friendly and laidback.
