Sao Rafael small beach is 3/4 minutes on foot, whilst the big beach is 6/8 minutes walk over the cliffs. Both beaches have sun loungers to hire, bar/restaurants and the big beach has a lifeguard. The small beach has a sheltered cove with rock pools to explore, whilst the big beach offers a good stretch of sand and is better for swimming. There are many other lovely beaches along the coast within a few minutes drive.
The central Algarve has a huge variety of activites and items of special interest apart from the beach and golf. There is horse riding, diving, sailing, walking especially along the beautiful coastal cliffs and cycling. There is a small supermarket within walking distance plus 3 good sized supermarkets each 5-10 minutes by car, with banks, post office & pharmacies in Albufeira. "Algarve Shopping" with a hypermarket, cinema, bowling alley, numerous shops & restaurants is 15-20 minutes by car.
