The 10m by 5m private swimming pool is fully terraced and alarmed and is for your exclusive use. The farmhouse is completely private, set in 7 acres of its' own grounds within the Perigord-Limousin National Park.
Aillac is a small hamlet of houses in the commune of St. Pierre de Frugie. It is situated on the edge of the Dordogne, bordering the Limousin. The cities of Limoges and Perigueux are approximately 40 minutes away. We are just 5 kms from either La Coquille or Chalus for everyday shopping and services. Limoges airport is 40 minutes away by car, so we are secluded without being isolated. Aillac has everything you need for a relaxing time in the heart of the French countryside.
This holiday farmhouse in La Coquille is pet / dog friendly.
Midway between Limoges and Perigueux, the house is 2 km away from the beautiful village of St. Pierre de Frugie. Nearby are the towns of La Coquille and Chalus - where Richard the Lionheart was fatally wounded. The prehistoric caves at Les Eyzies and old towns such as Rocamadour, Bergerac and St. Emilion are within reasonable distance. The farmhouse is set within Parc Naturel du Perigord-Limousin with beautiful countryside all around.
You can fly to Limoges airport with Ryanair or Flybe. This is about 40 minutes drive away. Alternatively you can drive from Calais within about 6 hours.
There are many medieval market towns within easy driving distance. Thiviers has a traditional farmers' market and Piegut has a market every Wednesday with fresh fish, oysters and local produce. Nontron, the principal town of the Perigord Vert, is not too far away with its' ancient ramparts and a fine 18th century square. The chateau at JumilhacleGrand is also worth a visit for its' spectacular view
The farmhouse comfortably accommodates a maximum of 11 people. We may accommodate pets on request.
2. Payment Terms
Initial Deposit - 20% of Total rental cost non-refundable deposit
Final Payment – Balancing payment + £200 security deposit .
The final payment is due 8 weeks prior to arrival date.
The final payment should include an additional £200 security deposit which will be refunded upon confirmation that the farmhouse has been left in good, clean & tidy condition. All bank charges for sending and receiving payments are paid for by the client not the owner.
Prices include gas, electricity and water
Guests are responsible for the replacement or payment of any breakages. All household rubbish should be removed on departure. A charge will be made for rubbish left in or around the property after departure.
3. Charges for Cancellation
The following charges are applied for cancellation after the balancing payment has been received:
Time before the arrival date :
7 weeks – 20% of rental cost
6 weeks – 30% of rental cost
5 weeks – 40% of rental cost
4 weeks – 50% of rental cost
3 weeks – 70% of rental cost
2 weeks – 100% of rental cost
4. Arrival / Departure Times
Please arrive after 4pm and depart prior to 10am to allow sufficient time for the housekeeper to thoroughly clean the farmhouse before the new arrivals.
Sheets, pillowcases, tea-towels and towels (except swimming pool towels) will be provided. Bed linen will be changed on a weekly basis
6. Swimming Pool
Please note that the swimming pool is not supervised. It is your responsibility to ensure children and non-swimmers are supervised at all times. The alarm should be set at all times when not using the swimming pool.
The swimming pool will be “openâ€ from 1st May through to 12th September. If we receive advance notice, then these dates are potentially negotiable.
Please do not smoke inside the house.
It is recommended that you take out insurance for the duration of your holiday.
The property is rural and young children must be watched at all times as there are areas of the grounds which are a potential danger to children. ie swimming pool, steps and steep drops.
