A Martis is apprx 2 km from the nearest village Mielan which has a range of amenities,Tourist information centre and a variety of shops ( boulangerie, boucherie,bar & restaurant etc).
The beautiful Lac de Mielan is situated 0.5 km from Mielan and has a full range of water activities including a lovely lakeside restaurant. Other local attractions include: The Country & western festival in Mirande (July). The jazz festival in Marciac (July - August). The Salsa festival and Night Markets in Vic Fezensac (July).
There are many other local fetes throughout the summer months.
To the south,an hours drive,are the stunning Pyrenees and the Spanish border (even cheaper wine!).
To the North is the beautiful capital of gers,Auch which boasts a smaller Notre Dame and you will find lots of local specialities, Armagnac,fois gras and the fine local wines,Madiran,Saint Mont - enjoy!
