Details of the Farmhouse

This restored farmhouse is on four acres of land which has many walnut trees, fruit trees and shade against the hot summer sun - essential! There are four bedrooms - three with double and one with twin beds - all with ensuite or private shower rooms and loos. One of the double rooms is on the ground floor. All but one of the bedrooms is southfacing across the valley. The kitchen/dining room (upgraded in 2012) is furnished in old French style but has all the modern equipment! The living room is large and has a TV on which to watch DVDs and tapes, plus a music deck. There is a separate 'four au pain' room which now houses the washing machine and all the outdoor equipment. The swimming pool is 4m x 8m and of one depth (replaced in 2014). The garden offers plenty of room to play badminton, boule, have a BBQ, eat dinner under the trees or simply lie in the hammock and enjoy your book and glass of wine! There is private parking.

One double bedroom is reached from the kitchen up the original staircase. A second double bedroom is on the ground floor and has separate shower and loo. The other double and the twin bedded rooms are up the stairs from the. living room. Guests tell us that they sleep longer and more comfortably than usual - we hope it is the ambiance plus the beds that help!

All the shower rooms have shower cubicles and basins. All but the downstairs shower room are ensuite and include a loo, too. Downstairs the shower room is directly opposite the bedroom and the loo is separate.

Le Segala is located in Martel, Lot

Le Ségala is a hamlet of Cazillac near Martel in the northern part of the Lot, just south of the Correze. It is ideally situated for a relaxing holiday but with plenty of things to do and see.
The famous Dordogne river is nearby, meandering through beautiful cliff-hung gorges where you can rent a canoe and glide gently downstream, perhaps stopping off for a picnic on the riverbank and taking a swim.
There are few large towns and a smattering of small ones and all are almost totally unspoilt by modern development. Many of these towns have wonderful markets which brim over with foie gras, strawberries, local wines, fresh produce, and the cheeses and breads for which France is so famous. Sit in a café and watch the world. Take in Rocamadour, Curemonte, Turenne, Collonges La Rouge, Sarlat, the caves of Pech Merle, Padirca or Lascaux, many of Le Plus Beaux Villages de France. Take the children to the waterpark or the ariel walks through the trees. So much to do, so much to see.

Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy

The reservation is subject to the receipt of a 25% deposit - cancellation terms on application. The balance of the payment for the accommodation is due six weeks prior to arrival date. If payment is not received by this date, the owner reserves the right to give notice in writing (electronically or by post) that the reservation is cancelled and no deposit will be refunded. Reservations made within eight weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment at the time of booking. Payment is by transfer to either our UK or our French bank account (all costs payable by you), or by a cheque drawn on a French bank. There is a safety deposit of 400 euros payable prior to arrival which is refunded within two weeks of your departure should the house be left in the same clean and tidy state as it was found and there are no charges due (Alternatively this can be paid in the UK in sterling). Linen and house towels are included in the rental. Pool towels are available at 2 euros each. A light pre-prepared meal and grocery shopping prior to arrival on request. A special catered meal by a professional caterer (English speaking) also available - just ask when you book!
