Laykin is the ideal destination for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Swaledale is one of the prettiest and most varied dales. There are lots of walks that can be enjoyed straight from the door. There are wonderful cycling routes - on or off road and cycles can be hired nearby. When the weather isn't kind the cottage is wonderfully cosy and has underfloor heating, a Rayburn and wood burning stove as well as full central heating. There is a drying room with ample hanging space to dry out wet kit after being outdoors.
The cottage has a large flat screen tv with freeview, dvd, hifis, ipod docks and broadband wifi. There is a phone for incoming calls. The kitchen is fully equipped with american fridge freezer, microwave, Rayburn and electric cooker, microwave, toaster etc. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds- Super kingsize in 2 rooms as well as a twin and a double. There are showers in each of the bathrooms and 2 very large baths. There is a washing machine and tumble drier.
Children are most welcome and we have a cot, high chair, stair gates and toys as well as board games.
There are many local attractions: Museums, family days out, local events and shows as well as a good choice of pubs and restaurants nearby. The cottage is 4 miles from Reeth village and all the local shops as well as the market which comes twice a week.

Laykin is situated above the village of Low Row in rural Swaledale in the North Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is half way along Wainwright's famous Coast to Coast path and is mid way along the path.
You can get there from the A1 through Richmond or from the M6 through Kirby Stephen or over the unforgettable Buttertubs pass from Hawes in Wensleydale.
