The Edinburgh Fringe Festival

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world. It takes place every year, during 3 weeks in August 1st – 25th (this years festival has already started but there is still plenty of time to get involved), with a vast line up of over a thousand musicians, comedians, and theatrical performers, plus many other arts & culture events for you to enjoy. There are also a large number of venues, big and small, scattered all across the Scottish capital, where you can see your favourite artists perform. Some small performances are known to be so intimate that you can count the number of audience with one hand.

The festival started in 1947 with only a handful of acts signed up to the official programme. It was later gate crashed by newly formed/up and coming artists, which then became a trend every year with more and more unofficial talent performing to the crowds. But in 1958, the festival was evolved into “The Festival Fringe Society” which was created in response to the growing popularity. Making signed and unsigned artists welcome to perform here.

Edinburgh is an ideal city break destination and what better time to take the family or your other half during the summer holidays, with plenty for the younger and older generation, plus a vast variety to see and do. Whether it is the festival itself, castles, parks, museums or even just shopping you will be sure to find something to fill your time here. Apartments in Edinburgh can perfectly accommodate small and large families. The apartments offer great flexibility so you can enjoy your short break at your own pace, not to mention the prime location, where you are just a stone throw away from everything.
